Anne83: with all that royal blood in your veins you should hurry over to Europe, where Princes and Crown Princes end up dating all kind of common commoners. There might still be hope for Carl Philip if you interfere, and if the spark does not happen, he could always introduce you to dear William. Andrea Casiraghi is no option I assume, because his fathers side is certainly not royal, and he might be a bit young?

That's very interesting Anne83, and it is all the more reason why you should know the difference between a true aristocrat/noble...and a nouveau riche wannabe.

That's interesting because an earlier post from a few pages back gives a very different story:

The abolishing of the monarcy in sweden is a very real option, at least, as it seems for a majority of the swedish people.

I'm curious if the wedding of Victoria and Daniel would have any influence on a new poll. Could be possible, IMO.
But as a few posters stated before, each new scandal will put the monarchy of Sweden in great danger.

Those where taken before the wedding. And it isn't as it is a steady declaying in support, the polls changing by 10% or so between year and the next or a result of significant events (such as royal weddings) is common.

King Constantine of Greece isn't a parasite He's a King without a country now But who knows what happens in the future
Everyone can put on their best smile and pretend to be royal and act accordingly or state in every interview that they love their country
That's what people like MM and Letizia do The question is Do they convince anyone?
They do convince me. Letizia, Mette-Marit, Mary, Maxima... maybe they don`t have royal blood in their veins, but they all do a great job for their country. They became professional royals, in my eyes.
Marie-Chantal was a commoner too, as common as Mette-Marit or Letizia, only richer. And I don`t see any reason why she should be seen as more noble than the other princesses. Or is it because she`s rich?
And if you accept the difference between commoner and simply common, then Clotilde is simply common to me. I don`t see anything royal about her.

The time has come to stop the discussion about commoners vs. aristocrats in this thread.

The discussion is turning personal and has very little to do with prince Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist, so in that light it is perhaps more sensible to continue the discussion in this thread, which deals with commoners in (other) royal families. There are also two articles in The Royal Articles that deals with this topic, which you can find here and here (written by Vanesa and Duke of Marmalade respectively).

Claims and questions about your own anscestery can be made in this thread. Since there is no way that other posters can check if statements about being a descendant of people like emperor Caligula, Rapunzel, captain Spock and others are true, we do not allow such statements to be made in the rest of the forum.

Thank you for understanding,

The Swedish Moderators.

No... the Armed Forces do not "want to send Carl Philip to serve abroad"...
He, like everyone else in military reserve, received a regular letter of which Bernadotte PR Chief Eldh hasn’t heard a thing, as she said.
This is a rather silly 'A loving couple torn apart by war…!?!' non-story.
Cucumber season continues, obviously.

Could I just enquire as to when the name of this thread changed?
Also if CP is going to serve abroad, which I doubt, if Sofia loves him for him, she'll wait for him.

Last time i checked Carl Philip is in the navy and its the army doing most of the work like the balcans and Afghanistan. Somehow i dont see Carl philip joining the brittish royal traditions of actually serving in a warzone.

If CP was asked i'm sure he would go, and Sweden are mainly involved in the reconstruction of places, which means they will need supplies, which is where I presume the navy comes into things.

Well he can always write her a letter for every day he's away. The tactic of separating couples with putting large distances between them does not always work out.

Oh, please...what good is blocking the photos now going to do!!?? PCP and Sofia need to face the fact that lots and lots of folks know what she looks like in the buff...not to mention they know how turned on she was making out with a porn star...SHE TOLD EVERYONE HERSELF.

Spilled milk cannot be put back into the bottle...deal with it lovebirds!

What a disappointment.

Well, what private citizens do is their business, but he isn't a private citizen and he knows that. He should know better.

Thanks to Nina Eldh's wording, which was as incompetent as usual, 'Hello' made the part of 'blocking' the pics up.
The Royal Court did nothing of the sort.
Neither would they - or Sofia Hellqvist - be able to do so. Sofia Hellqvist is a private person who posed for nude pics and signed buy-out contracts.
End of 'blocking the pics' story.
