As far as Sophia goes, I think she's questionable to say the least. I found it tacky when late last year she wrote on Twitter, "Here's a secret - I'm dating the prince!" This was before it was revealed in the papers. It came off as someone who wanted to brag to the world that she was with a prince. I also remember reading when she bragged about kissing pornstar Jenna Jameson - classy. She just really comes off as someone who likes to name-drop. And then of course there was the reality show. Let's be honest - people only go on reality shows to get a little fame.

In any case, CP can be with whomever he chooses and if he thinks this is the best he can do, then so be it.
Ain't that the truth! For some, twisting words seem to be the thing to do nowadays.
I agree...reality show stars usually want some kind of fame. She bragged about a lot of things that should be kept to herself. Including how she and her then boyfriend would flip a coin to see who would get the girl. Thats a little off the reservation to me. I found the Twitter thing to be very, very questionable too. Seriously, what girl who's in the relationship for the right reasons would do something like that? Didn't she delete the Twitter account shortly after that?? That really made me wonder if she was phony. It was deleted because she knows she shouldn't have said that and she didn't want it to hit the press. I don't like boasting and bragging, and Sophia has done a lot of that. It does make me wonder about going on in CP's head and how he views himself.

It doesn't matter to me whether anyone agrees with me or not, but I have a strong feeling this is a good old-fashioned fling.

Thank you for your kind offer.
I trust I have enough grasp of the english language to understand what is being said in these forums.

I stand by my point that the ongoing discussion regarding her looks and the intelligence (or lack of thereof) of her conversation is larded with negative connotations. Comments of the type 'Well, it's wasn't for her intelligence, was it?' are not neutral. They are not neutral when used in real life, and they have a connotation and meaning understood by everybody. If in a casual conversation, for example, you were talking about how you found a new boyfriend and someone would pipe in with a 'I bet you didn't attract him with your challenging conversation!', you would not be please. I know I would not.
So I don't think I'm twisting words or over-reading them in here. Beside, like you, I will keep using my right to express an opinion.

However, I realize our little disagreement must be tedious to read for other members so I'll drop the subject. You may have the last word if you want it, I'm done.

Is there any proof for this twitter message? Link?

AFAIK she was part of his circles of friends before they were starting dating.
So it is at least no "shabby bar, rich guy, poor girl with certain attributes"-story.

According to Expressen, Sofia has met Victoria in May. They got well together. Carl Philip has also met Sofia´s family.

The Twitter post I have seen myself last year. I remember wondering who "Sofia" was and I thought that it was just some girl who was just posting some lies.
I have been following all the gossip and rumors over the past months.
I think Carl Philip is a very nice guy, has a good heart and is just super-nice, maybe a bit naive, too. He should date whom he wants, no question. I really wish for him that he finds a girl that is super-nice and who has a good soul. To be Princess is not about "looking beautifully". All who say that looks and beauty were enough for being a Princess are shallow and know nothing what Royalty is about actually. It is about good character, honesty, being role-models for people, about hard social work, and about giving up and sacrifice a lot of your life for your country.
I read peoples posts on the internet who say that it was enough if Sofia was beautiful so she would be a great princess and that she and Carl Philip looked cute together. Of course they do, but that alone won't do.
I have a strange feeling about Sofia, since I heard all of a sudden that she is actually dating the Prince. I remembered the Twitter post that I read.
I agree with people saying that one can make "mistakes" in the past, like taking nude pictures. People get older, they change. But to me Sofias current actions make me be a bit concerned.
The question still remains: Is it really love? Or is she just using him? Is he using her? We all can't see into their mind.
If they are honestly in love then I wish them both a lucky lifetime, but if not I feel very sad for both. Because I believe that true love is out there for everyone, Royal or not. In case (and we also have to consider that) Sofia is cheating on Carl Philip for money, parties, fame and admiration then she is keeping the chance for both to find the "right one" (the same is for Carl Philip) So, let's hope this girl is true in her soul, let's hope Carl Philip does not fall for looks only.
In the end - if this relationship is not based on honesty and love but on lies and "gold-digging"- it will end up in drama one day, that is for sure. The truth always wins sooner or later. You can't keep up lies forever, sooner or later the true person shows up in reality. And it would be nasty to read about divorce and gossip-wars with children involved later.

In regards to Sofia's past-people change, yes, and they acknowledge their "mistakes". For example, CP Mette-Marit went on National TV to acknowledge her drug use. Now, being involved in a party scene, ie partying and clubbing, doing drugs etc, is very different than deciding to pose nude for a magazine, pose in a bikini for a magazine, and decide to participate in a reality show watched by millions of your countrymen. It doesn't matter if Sofia never had sex with anyone, but that show, unlike say, Amazing Race or heck, even Survivor, seems to be soap-opera style. So, when posters talk about the princesses and their colourful pasts, they are talking about private things, like being divorced, being a single mom, getting pregnant out of wedlock, not about knowingly deciding to be seen as a sex object in magazines and appearing in reality tv shows. I think that is the big differencce between this girl and the others. She strikes one as wanting to make her mark in the international stage in an entertainment medium, so I think that's why people are looking at her as an opportunist.

Speculation about peoples private love lives seems to be as popular as soccer these days. I find it prurient; this is the stuff of cheap celebrity magazines - perhaps it is best left there.

But we are talking about the love life of royals, that isn't as private as normal peoples love life.
I'm going to have to ask you what prurient means?

I didn't think it would mean that, seeing as it starts with the letters "pru" but thank you for the definition.

How do you think it's prurient, Hereditary Thane?

I was not insinuating that you didn't understand English. I was saying that if the meaning of something I said isn't understood then I'll gladly tell you. I wasn't insulting you.
I tried to explain what I meant, but I don't think I could explain it much anymore. It's not my fault that Sophia is seen in a negative light. She did that to herself. There's nothing I can do about it. Your paragraph above is not what I meant when I said it was not her intellect. I meant that CP saw her looks first. Of course.

Please keep using your opinion. People expressing themselves is the beauty of humanity. I do agree that the subject should be dropped. It's dropped.

I guess Svenskdam interviewed one of Sophia's friends.
Her friend said she scouted the Prince and was waiting for the right moment. Sofia's friend said they don't go out all that much.
Interesting article indeed.

Ewww! I don't even want to know what that means.

Don't worry about whether people agree with you or not because everyone has a right to voice their opinion. After reading some of the things SHE has said or wrote, my opinion is that she's not exactly a classy gal.
