I have a question

Today King Carl Gustaf celebrates his 59th birthday. Does anyone find any link on any Swedish tv website to watch his appearance on his birthday today? What time it will be broadcast?

I dont think there will be a special link, but the tv news usually has some reports.

so wait for the evening news to be posted at www.svt.se and www.tv4.se

Pia Degermark was a swedish actress who once played Elvira Madigan.

And she and King Carl Gustaf was a couple during their younger years

Photos from july 2000, taken in Monaco when Silvia gave name to a boat. She really got some nice moves there :)

I ask you to please remember to credit your sources when attaching pictures. This needs to be done even if they have watermarks and it's quite obvious where they came from. If you have recently posted pictures in this forum without giving credit, please go back and credit the source in your post. If you do not credit your sources, the photos will have to be removed as we don't want to get TRF in any trouble.

A picture of the King and Queen under the olympic rings. I think this was taken in Sydney 2000...

from newscom

In this photo the King looks just like any normal swede on a bustrip´, doesn´t he?!

Photo taken in Germany September 1998, during a scout camp

from: olycom

a very sweet photo of Silvia in India(?)

from ebay

This is a quite rare photo I belive. I had just seen one photo from this occasion before...

The photo was taken in the summer of 1997 when the royal family went to Nice to see a Michael Jackson concert. Victoria was there to (I belive its her behind the Queen, wearing a pink top) but I´m not sure if Carl Philip and Madeleine was there...

Announcement from the TRF Team:

In an effort to conserve bandwidth, the TRF Team is making some changes to how News and Picture threads are being organized, which you may have noticed is already being made in some forums.

From this point forward, please be aware that the only images that will be allowed to be attached directly to the forum will be those of current activities of the royals, which can be posted in the Current Events threads.

Instead of posting a dozen or more pictures, please try to select a few pictures that best describe the event/occasion. Aim to conserve. Think quality not quantity.

If you wish to post pictures of events that happened a few years ago or older images of various royals, please do so in the Picture threads via a private image hosting account such as Photobucket or Imageshack.

Please note that older images which are attached directly to the forum are subject to removal by an Administrator or SuperModerator without notice to the member.

Thank you for your co-operation on this matter so that we can all continue to enjoy images of our favourite royals.

usually aftonbladet has some sort of "flash" (I´m no computer expert :) ) when posting photo specials like that and photos like that cannot be saved. Probably thats why they are using that programme *lol*

If her birthday was in December why did they wait until June the next year? Was it becuase of the Noble Prize, if so why did they wait so long after to do the party?

I think it was because of a number of reasons. First, as we have such bad weather during the winters here in Sweden, many people thinks its better to have parties in the spring/summer when one can be outdoors and its "easier" to have a big party like that.
Second, the queens birthday is on december 23rd and as its the day before christmas eve, many people have their own family parties and celebrations and its difficult to "get away"

That could be some of the reasons why they choosed to have the party in June...
