The king is in the media today, but not for very plesant reasons. SVT (Swedish national TV) has been investigating who's paid for the renovations of Stenhammar.
During the last couple of years it's been renovated from the inside out. Statens fastighetsverk (a stately authority) and the courts own accountants confirms that arount 9 million SEK (roughly 1,4 millon euros) has been taken from his apanage, aka taxpayers money. When SVT confronted the king about this, he snapped them of and - according to the reporter - swore at them and asked why they never told the truth.
Not well handled, your majesty.

The court comments at the website

The court refers that the Castle is a cultural heritage. But I think that many people think that if 9 million SEK of taxpayers' money were spent to the renovation of a property which the king leases in practice for free (for 1000 SEK a year), it is way too much to use for the renovation.
Bertil Ternert from the press department says that a person in a public position must have a longer fuse. But still one must understand that it is a provocation.
But is it appropriate that the head of state swears and accuses SVT reporter to lie?
- No that can man say. But the king felt it was unjustified criticism The king was provoked in this context, and that is what is reflected here., says Ternert.
But whether he was provoked Sweden's head of state swore in television, accusing a reporter of lying.
- The camera was turned on and this is what happens when a reporter is around. But the king didn't after all returned to the Swedish people, but directly to the reporter, says Ternert.

King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia arrived in Norway at Evenes Airport yesterday, June 16.
They will do a two-day private sailing tour off the Lofoten Islands on board of the Norwegian Royal Ship 'Norge' together with King Harald and Queen Sonja, before the official visit begins tomorrow.
