Actually I don´t think that it´s a car factory, when they speak of saab airospace they mean the weapons and air industry of saab.

Yes, it's probably a defence, aviation or space connected SAAB place that they are going to visit.

Yes, realize that now. Another case of me making a dumb joke with an incorrect context and not reading the full story. If I only had a dollar for every time that happened...

Yesterday, various Swedish newspapers reported that about 20 of the royal sheep were stolen from their pasture at Royal Djurgården in the end of July. The sheep had been grazing in the southern parts of Royal Djurgården, when the Court Shepherdess discovered that 20 sheep were missing one morning.
- One ewe was stuck with her head in the fence, and two had serious bone injuries. There was quite a big anxiety in the pasture.

There were no holes in the electrical fence, and it’s believed that they were taken in the middle of the night. Now, about two weeks later, the police have no lead on the thieves.

The rest of the remaining 100 royal sheep have now been moved to another pasture at another spot at Royal Djurgården.

The tradition of the royal sheep goes back about 100 years in history. The sheep are not owned by the King himself, but are called royal because they graze on his land on Royal Djurgården during the summers. This has been done for a long time, and it’s a measure taken in order to keep the landscape open. Every year a big flock of sheep are lent by a farm somewhere in Sweden.

Recently the Royal Court appointed its first female watcher over the royal sheep. Riita Madsen is her name, and she gets the title Court Shepherdess with the job. She keeps the title for five years and gets to live in the shepherd’s cottage at Royal Djurgården. Together with the other Court Shepard and five assistant shepherds, they are appointed to watch over the royal sheep until they return home.

Great article, GrandDuchess. How dare someone take those excellent grass-eaters! Poor ewe. I hope she is okay now.

Yes, good wineries. They may ever do a little (or maybe a lot of) 'taste-testing' too.

The entire Adelaide wine region is known for its good wines.

"They may ever do a little (or maybe a lot of) 'taste-testing' too"

O, I´m sure they will.

"Maybe Sven and his aliens were around"

ha ha ha. O, no. Not aliens. :)

Summary of an article in Eskilstuna Kuriren:

Yesterday King Carl Gustaf started the construction of a new barn for the cows at the estate of Stenhammar. In the old days when Prince Wilhelm lived there, cows used to graze on the estate in order to keep an open landscape. Now new measures will be taken to develop and again to try and keep the landscape open. The plans are that 300 cows will be bought and housed in a barn and on the fields.

How is the King’s knowledge on cows?
- I have learnt a lot during this planning phase. But for us, the most important thing is of course that we have good people who take care of the animals, he says, and adds that he doesn’t have any fear of cows.

The barn will be enormous, 4 500 square metres, and will cost about 15 million Swedish crowns. It will be finished in 2006.

The King himself was the one who got on the machines to prepare the ground for the barn. Queen Silvia stood on the ground, keeping a watching eye on her husband.

sometimes I do wonder about the journalists, do they share one braincell and pass it around among themselves, "How is the Kings knowledge on cows" , is that really the best question to ask if you get a chance to ask the King a question. I will give the King credit for giving a polite answer

thanks for the pictures Grandduchess, The Queen looks very elegant.

She does look elegant. One braincell? I think even that is too much credit. Their questioning is hardly Terry Gross-like, that´s for sure. Yes, the king gave a good and polite answer. Yes, to think if you had a chance to ask the king one question, even one on such a topic, you think you would come up with a better question than that.

Yes, ain't it fab! The professional showing off their skills when they get their moment... If there would be a "The Most Stupid Questions of Our Time" in the press core, then this question would surely land somewhere in the very beginning of that list.

A whole braincell? Hm... I sincerely doubt it. Maybe like 1/10 of a braincell, shared among the whole Swedish press core... :)
