The king delivered today H.M. The King's Medals and the Litteris et Arbus Medals. Queen Silvia attended at the event too.
H.M. The King's Medals got among others the king's relative Dagmar von Arbin, the director of the economy at the court Jan Lindman and the king's solicitor Axel Calissendorff. One of the receivers of the Litteris et Arbus medal was court singer Elin Rombo, who sang at Oscar's and Estelle's christenings.

Queen Silvia inaugurates today Ågrenska's new extension, Stenhuset. Ågrenska is a national competence center for children, youth and adults with disabilities and rare diseases. Stenhuset has been funded by a donation of 54 million from the Sten A. Olsson Foundation for Research and Culture and will be a significant addition to the existing business. Queen Silvia is Ågrenska's patron.
The queen arrives at 11.05, there will be program before lunch. After lunch the queen meets children at a party. The inauguration ceremony starts at 14.10 and after that is a tour at the new house. Queen Silvia gives the closing speech and at 15.35-15.50 is a meeting with the press where the queen attends.

Johan T Lindwall interviewed queen Silvia, who was very glad to have met the children.
- Yes, there were amazing meetings. See the joy found in these children is incredible. I just want to embrace all. I'm just happy every time I get to be at these meetings and the incredible spontaneity which is in them, queen Silvia said.
Nine-year old Emil gave the queen a drawing.
- I was the one on the front and a castle, the Queen laughed. And a tiara on my head.
- When little Emil had sat down again, he remembered that he had forgotten to show me what was on the back. It was a really nice drawing of the king. It was incredibly charming, the queen laughed.

I tried to get a photo of the King from the symposium in the University auditorium, but they walked they too fast in the aisle to be able to take a good photo. Still a very fancy ceremony
 
Queen Silvia and king Carl Gustaf go to Germany to give Sweden PR-boost. The royal couple will be the days before crown princess Victoria's birthday in Aachen. They will visit and inaugurate the world's largest equestrian competition, Chio.
This year Sweden and Swedish Equestrian Federation are an official partner country of Chio and therefore the royal couple puts a little extra shine to the competition.
The Queen has also received the honor of the inaugural address:
- Yes, this is something that the royal couple prioritizes and the queen will give the opening speech. The Queen and the King are in Germany from Monday until Wednesday, Thorgren says.
So they make it home to the Crown Princess's birthday?

The king and Silvia are in Aachen, Germany, to attend the inauguration of the world's largest equestrian competition. On Monday there was held a program that lasted nearly an hour. The Swedish Life Guards had a show on the square, Midsummer dance was danced and several Swedish traditions were displayed. The orchestra Royal Fire Brigade, Malmo Fire Brigade Band, played under the direction of Jan-Ingmar Landgren, Vikings rode past the royal couple and musicians danced around the cobbled quaint little square. And a small show with Astrid Lindgren theme was erected in the square.
- People in Aachen like Swedes. We like all northerners. It is a great honor for us that the Swedish queen come to Aachen, says Hildegaard Wiedmann who came to the square with her friends to see the Swedish royal couple.
The feeling is mutual. The royal couple appreciate the trip to Aachen.

After the mission in Germany the royal couple continues to Öland where the whole family gathers.

In order to be home for her daughter's 39 birthday, they have a crisis plan. The royal couple will take military Hercules plane, a cargo plane to get home.

I saw the live event on WDR yesterday. The Queen, the King and Princess Benedikte looked great. The speech from the Queen was nice and met with approval by the well-willing public. A detachement of the King's Guard on horseback was in Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle) and gave a nice performance.
 
Silvia's opening speech was on the news and again I thought, what a strange accent and some grammar mistakes on top. For a german native she really has lost the grip on the language.

The king presented today in Solliden the Öland Inhabitant of the Year award to farmer and blogger Hanna Karlsson. Queen Silvia attended also at the event, traditionally at the traditional costume.

Hanna Karlsson has through her acclaimed blog become an ambassador of Öland and its farmers. When queen Silvia and king Carl Gustaf were at CHIO Aachen, the queen gave an interview to Bunte, which Bunte publishes today at their website.
Among other things the queen says that she doesn't speak German to her grandchildren, they are too small. But the Crown Princess speaks very good German. Madeleine and Carl Philip are shy in speaking, but of course they understand the language. And the grandchildren? Each language they learn, is a door to the world. It is also much more convenient when you can several languages. Her grandchildren call her Modermoder.
Queen Silvia:
- In October we are what especially pleased to have the state visit to Germany for the second time to us! The first time we were in Bonn, now Berlin is the capital and Germany is very different. We actually visit the country privately every year. Whenever we travel to the south of France, we drive through Germany, stopping in different cities. Every time we take a different route.
