Well I am not surprised, that she kept this dress. But I am more than surprised, that she still fits into it. Didn't she have the eating disorders at that time?

Haven't you heard of getting a dress ALTERED and letting the seams out???

I do not think it has been altered. I would not adopt a 7 year old clothing to wear it again. i would get new ones

I think the dress is neutral in the sense that not much about it screams a particular era or of a particular trend in fashion at the time, so it is quite okay for Victoria to wear it again.

I think royals need to be thrifty about their clothing, especially about their evening wear wardrobe which can be quite costly. (You're not just buying a dress; often times you need to buy co-ordinating shoes, purses, undergarments, and other accessories to go with the dress.) Consider how many times in one year Victoria must have to don gala wear and if she were expected to wear a new dress each time it would be quite expensive.

It's quite practical of Victoria (and other royals who do this, too!). And as long as Victoria isn't wearing gala dresses especially back to back then I don't see why she shouldn't resurrect a dress she wore seven years ago and still fits into to another occasion.

(Just as long as she does not wear that hideous yellow fiasco she wore to Frederik and Mary's wedding I'm happy with her recycling of clothes! :p )

I also don´t think it´s altered. It seems to be a dress, which offers a bit of "space", so that it can "adjust" to your body. Besides It´s doesn´t have sleeves, in which her now much more muscular arms wouldn´t fit in anymore. But her waist and hips have now probably the same measures as in pre-summer 1997. I don´t think this is a reason to worry. She seems healthy, well-balanced and most of all her boyfriend is a gym trainer. So it´s almost a natural development, that she is slim (I think after Christmas I will also start to date a gym trainer )

I agree with you Alexandria, though I think that e.g. in 2004 Victoria hadn´t to attend many gala events. In the yearly fashion-review I did with a friend, we have only counted about 8-10 gala events, on which she wore dresses. It were more galas, but unfortunataly she is now in the habit of wearing trousers to gala-events. Here I would (also) rather prefer she would wear older dresses again. This red dress is indeed "neutral", so I don´t see a problem to wear it again. Esp. since it´s so totally untypical for Victoria, who wears some suits and dresses directly in series (I still miss the pin striped suit!!) and then either never again or she starts a new serie after a few months.

The Swedish people have a model of frugality. But I think this beautiful woman could benefit from a fashion consultant. She's going to be queen!

I guess you mean the dress at the jubilee of Swea (Swedish Women's Educational Association)

At the swimming gala she wore trousers and this black-white top, which she also wore at the Polarprize award.

Would you actually mind, if Victoria would wear such a dress at "bigger" gala events (state visits, Nobel prize award...)? Or do you think this is too sexy for such events?

"trail", I guess. Or "train" would be an other word. I guess "train" is more often used, at least I´ve read it more times at TRF.

Here´s a pic I have not seen before. It was taken on september 3rd 2004 when Victoria visited Blekinge County. When she was there she got a tour of "her boat" HMS Västergötland. (Victoria is Duchess of Västergötland)

This photo of Victoria was taken in Philadelphia in November 2003 when Victoria made a visit there.
She was welcomed by children from the swedish school

Nice picture! Both CP Victoria and the two cute little swedish children look happy. I must say though, I am disappointed by her suit. She has worn this suit before and both the colour and high neck cut are not very flattering on her at all. LOL. I am laughing at the image of the CP being one of the people on the US realtiy tv show, What NOT To Wear. For those people not from the US, the basic concept of the show is that friends/family members nomiate someone who they think needs a style makeover. The consentants are surprised with a trip to NYC where they are taught what clothes look good on them and they go shopping for a new wardrobe.
