During a whirlwind, private visit to South Africa this week, the royal family of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan spent a day at the Hazendal wine estate in the Bottelary Hills. King Abdullah II, Queen Rania and Prince Hussein enjoyed a leisurely day exploring the historic Hazendal Wine estate,

HUH??

I can't quite see what your point is, what's wrong with visiting a vineyard?

Spotlight on a Queen: Rania of the Hashemites 9 February 1999
By Adel Darwish
Queen Rania Al-Abdallah, the woman they least expected to be their queen, has already found her way into the hearts of the Jordanian people.
As the drama of succession unfolded with conflict and jealousy in the court, especially among women, entered Rania as the angel who posses the healing touch that would fill the cracks and heal the rifts.
Like her husband Abdallah, who still fighting a self-internal battle to adjust to the unexpected role, Rania was catapulted into the spotlight at a time when the world cameras focused on Amman.

King congratulates President of Zimbabwe
/77/
For Newspapers Only.............
Amman, April 16 (Petra (Petra) -- King Abdullah II sent on Sunday a cable to President of the Republic Of Zimbabwe Robert G. Mugabe
Congratulating him in His name and on behalf of the Jordanian
People and government in the occasion of his country's National
Day.

His Majesty wished the President continued good health and
happiness and the friendly people of Zimbabwe further progress and
Prosperity.
Wardat/Petra

Maybe Abdullah should be a bit more careful about who he wishes long life/health/happiness etc etc to. Mugabe is destroying Zimbabwe's people and the country - progress and prosperity there is a H_U_G_E joke, that is unless you happen to be a Mugabe supporter. From one undemocratic ruler to another - shouldn't really surprise anyone

This article was written very early on, before the shine came off things and before a lot of people got very disillusioned in them, their rhetoric and their reign

Horizon Development Holdings have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to begin work on a new US$5 billion integrated urban regeneration project near the ancient port of Aqaba.

The scheme is one of the largest such projects to be undertaken in the history of Jordan, and was announced under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II. It will cover 13.5 million square metres of land on the upper side of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone (ASEZ), 11km inland from the old town of Aqaba.
