Nice pictures Salma. Like the outfit she is wearing. I also like the pictures of the King. Even though they are Royals, I like the fact that they both look so relax and seem to enjoy what they do.

Prince Hussein, Simone Voloshin, Queen Rania, King Abdullah II and Dr Mark Voloshin at Hazendal.

During a whirlwind, private visit to South Africa this week, the royal family of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan spent a day at the Hazendal wine estate in the Bottelary Hills. King Abdullah II, Queen Rania and Prince Hussein enjoyed a leisurely day exploring the historic Hazendal Wine estate, which dates back to 1699.Russian-born owner Dr Mark Voloshin (Chairman of Marvol Group Internationl) hosted the royal family and their entourage during their sightseeing expedition, which included a visit to Hazendal's Marvol Museum and Russian Art Gallery. Her majesty Queen Rania, who is well-known for her affinity with arts and culture, particularly enjoyed the museum, which features twentieth century Russian paintings, icons, decorative art and an exclusive collection of Fabergè Easter eggs. One of them was specially custom-made for Nelson Mandela, which he received as a gift from Dr. Voloshin in 1997.

Voloshin carries the distinction of being the only Russian to own a Cape wine estate and is renowned for his involvement in Jordan as the Chairman and Chief Executive of the Jordanian AQABA pertroleum company, of which Marvol is one of the shareholders along with other Jordanian state enterprises. Since his initial involvement in Jordan in 2002, Dr. Voloshin has been spearheading several business projects in Jordan, which has brought him to the attention of King Abdullah II.

Since he came to the throne in 1999, King Abdullah II has been actively promoting the need for private investment and solid private-public partnerships as the only foundation for sustainable economic and social development. In February 2001, he instated special bylaws in an effort to transform the city of Aqaba into a Special Economic Zone. This economic status is expected to foster investments to the value of six billion dollars within the next 20 years and simultaneously create over 70,000 new jobs.

During discussions with Dr Voloshin, King Abdullah II and Queen Rania investigated several new joint business ventures, which will be cemented over the next few weeks. The potential establishment of a range of grapeseed-derived spa products for a spa at a chateux in Aljoun, Jordan was also of interest to her majesty.

Initial propositions included the marketing of the South African beverage Appletiser in Jordan with future possibilities of starting production of the softdrink in Jordan for marketing it in the Middle East. An agreement has already been signed to the purchase of six containers for distribution in Jordan.

Appletiser is currently only marketed in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates
