Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, Chair of IAA’s Board of Trustees, on 24th March attended a celebratory reception at IAA for its outstanding students in Grades 9 and 10, and all Grade 11 IB Diploma students. Her Majesty talked about her educational experiences and the importance of setting goals, having high aspirations and developing plans to reach these. As ‘leaders of tomorrow’, Her Majesty stressed to the students the importance of taking responsibility for their learning and to persevere to overcome obstacles and to work hard towards fulfilling their dreams.

Rania now has her own podcast channel on iTunes. You can find it under Podcasts > Education > Educational Technology > Queen Rania. All of the videos on the site were released today, June 24, 2010.

Queen Rania visits Zaha Cultural Center
Amman, June 28 (Petra) -- Her Majesty Queen Rania paid a visit to the Zaha Cultural Center in Amman today.
During the visit, Her Majesty read excerpts to the children, from Her New York Times' best-seller children's picture book "The Sandwich Swap", titled "Salma & Lily" in Arabic in the center’s library.

His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, attends the graduation ceremony of the 39th class of cadets from the King Hussein Air College on Wednesday 23/6/2010. The King presented the graduates with their wings and awards, after which the Royal Jordanian Air Force performed an air show.

The exercises, attended by HRH Prince Feisal, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. General Mashal Al Zaben, Royal Jordanian Air Force Commander Major General Malek Habashneh and Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi, included an air show by F16 aircraft. During the visit, the King inaugurated an exhibition featuring a project to develop F16s, and attended a graduation ceremony.

Prince Firas Ibn Raad, Member of the Board of Trustees of Samsung Amman International Marathon, said that the Marathon is taking place for the 2nd year running, and now, it is considered as one of the most important international races, well known among the professional runners regionally and internationally; it receives support from the International Athletics Federation (IAAF)..........


He further added "This year we are looking forward to organizing a more successful marathon with larger attendance under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania to make this marathon an opportunity to orient the participants from Arab and foreign countries on Amman and its historic landmarks".

WASHINGTON — Jordan's King Abdullah II suggests that failure of new peace talks between Isarel and the Palestinians would be a victory for terrorists seeking to derail the process.

WASHINGTON (Petra) - His Majesty King Abdullah has said a Palestinian-Israeli peace settlement on the basis of two states living side by side is a precondition for the security and stability of all countries of the Middle East.
The King made the remarks in an address late Wednesday on the eve of the launch of direct Palestinian-Israeli negotiations, shortly before his meeting with US President Barack Obama and top leaders involved in the peace process (see full text).

In a letter to school students marking the first day of the new scholastic year, King Abdullah called for student capacity building to be able to contribute to nation building at a time when knowledge and science have become a prerequisite to surmount the current challenges.

New hospital inaugurated in Ain Al Basha


BALQA - His Majesty King Abdullah, in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Rania, on Tuesday inaugurated the Prince Al Hussein Ben Abdullah II Hospital, which will serve about 300,000 residents of the Ain Al Basha District and surrounding areas such as Jerash, Sweileh and Abu Nuseir north of the capital.
