Zero Tolerance Policy

The following TRF Rule has recently been revised due to of an increase in the number of speculative posts on the forum:

Whenever possible, opinions should be based on factual information obtained from reputable sources and should be backed up by references to those sources. The moderators reserve the right to delete posts containing the more fanciful types of gossip and speculation, whether they originate in gossip magazines and websites or are simply fabricated.

The explanation of this rule can be found in FAQs which has also been updated as follows:

Why aren't I allowed to criticise any of the royals? I thought freedom of speech was a right.

You are allowed to criticise royals, and you do have the right to freedom of speech; both positive and negative opinions about royals are welcome. However, this is a privately owned forum, and participation is contingent on accepting the Social Knowledge Terms of Service, which forbid the use of obscene, vulgar, threatening, abusive, or defamatory language, and the Community Rules, which also forbid unsubstantiated gossip, spamming, and empty posts. Therefore, it's important that you express your criticism carefully. Please note that name-calling and defamatory statements are not made acceptable by the addition of 'IMO' ('in my opinion') or similar expressions. If one of your posts has been removed by a moderator because of the content, it will have been removed because of how you expressed yourself, not simply because you were critical. You're welcome to reword your post to express your opinion within the limits set by our rules.

As a result of this rule change, we are implementing a policy of zero tolerance on the Danish Forum.

This means, no gossiping or speculating about any member of the Danish Royal Family and all opinions must be substantiated with published reports.

If you are basing an opinion or statement on something you read in a book or article or saw on TV, if possible please say where you read or saw it. If another poster asks for more details about your source, please provide them or say that you are unable to (in which case another poster might be able to provide them). These details are sometimes important in finding out what was actually said in the original article or program.

If another poster has made a factual statement that you disagree with, feel free to ask them to give the name of a book, article, or TV programme which can confirm their statement. However, this should be reserved for cases where there's genuine doubt about what was actually said. Please don't demand detailed proof of every statement you happen to disagree with. This isn't fair to the person you're talking to, and it makes it difficult for other people to follow the discussion if there are arguments breaking out all the time over who said what.

And finally, no bashing or trashing of any member of the royal family of Denmark or their friends and associates as per this rule:

Insulting comments about other posters and royals are not permitted. Criticism is acceptable; insults and flames are not. We expect our members to treat each other with respect.

All noncompliant posts will be deleted at the discretion of the moderating team.
