Right now, Danish TV shows live from Copenhagen. The royals have just started a carriage ride through Copenhagen, three carriages and lots of horse riders.
Unfortunately, we have rain these days after a long period with beautiful spring weather - so they use closed carriages. QMII and King Carl Gustaf is in the gold carriage.

Paty, I just tried to check TV 2 and dr.dk › forside - but didn't find a live link.
Sputnik.dk seems to have one - but it requires login.

About the gala: thumbs up for Queen Margrethe II, I love this colour on her, she should wear something red more often! I do hope that she lost that jacket soon after the dinner started though. The jewels don't hurt either of course, her floral tiara/headpiece is one of my favourites,s o different from an average tiara and very glamorous too.
I liked what Queen Sylvia was wearing to, I am glad she decided to get the good stuff for this state visit, I love the Topaz necklace and the Braganca tiara cerainly oozes royalty. The dress looks rather nice too.
CP Victoria and one of the Jeep tiaras again :w00t2:. A most unfortunate piece and the ugly base is ruining what little beauty the tiara has. And I don't know why but somehow it seems that CP Victoria but somehow most of Victoria's gowns look very simular. My good old Queen Wilhelmina used to get her favourite hats in all different colours possible and I am starting to suspect that Victoria is doing the same thing with these evening dresses. Luckily the lady is lovely herself, which compensates a lot and at least the bows are different from her usual dresses .
Though CP Mary is enjoying her well-deserved maternity leave I wouldn't have mind seeing her in the magnificent Ruby parure, but better luck next time

For someone who lives in a Republican country these events are really strange and difficult to have a justification for such ostentation and pomp. Do this visit have a justification or it was just made because...

Oh, I didn't know that.
I'm sure her beautiful trim figure is just because she is looking after herself.

The use of three horse-drawn carriages is very rare here; TV2 interviewed a gentleman who had been attached to the horse guard for more than 40 years - and he had never before seen the royals use 3 carriages- and more than 50 riders in gala - it was rather impressive.
If it has a justification - well, it's an state visit like so many others. It does have a theme however - which is the 'Øresundsregionen' - the areas in Southern Sweden and Eastern part of the greater Copenhagen area which are connected by a bridge - and which is hoped will in time be a strong financial centre for both countries. The bridge means that quite a number of Danes have settled in the Malmö area and use the bridge to go back to the Copenhagen area to work - and that many Swedes work in the greater Copenhagen area.
This afternoon, Victoria and Frederik will be paying a visit to Field's - a huge shopping centre where about half the number of employees are Swedes.
The return dinner for this state visit will also take place in Malmö - which is quite unusual, don't think this has happened before. But this is probably to emphasise that the 'Øresundsregion' is an area where the two countries 'melt together'.

Victoria looked absolutely lovely yesterday afternoon, last evening (with the exception of THAT tiara!), and today at the Swedish Church. She always looks interested and charming. I know she's in love with Daniel Westling ... but, somehow, I just don't see him sitting patiently and looking interested in long speeches at Gala dinners nor sitting in a Church? Any other opinions on this?

Not only monarchies use pump but so do republics. The pump of the French republic is in Europe only (and narrowly) outshined by the British pump for example. But also smaller republics attach value to receiving foreign heads of state in style.

Queen silvia & Victoria look beautiful. The color Queen Silvia is wearing reminds me of Mary's coat hat she wore yesterday. Victoria looks very radiant in white, it suits her & another feathered headpeice, nice though.
Is the "exhibition of the late Queen Ingrid of Denmark " on all year round?

I just think that sometimes money is spend on useless things and that efforts should be put on other things! But this is a republican speaker! I love Royals and I love to see all things related to them, love to see how they dress, love to see their children photos, but IMO Royals are a "thing" from the past and their duties and work is worthwhile only because of the positive publicity in the events they attend!!!!

Have there been many curtsies between the Royal Families, and are there any photos of them.
Thanks

They are so closely related that they did only kiss and hug. Just like normal people do when meeting relatives they like.

That's incorrect, I've seen on one of the videos, CPss Victoria curtisying (don't know how to spelll it) to the Queen and Prince-Consort of Denmark, and CP Frederik bowing to the King and Queen of Sweden!

The royals just arrived to the opera house.
Dronning Margrethe in brown/black, Silvia in greenish/turquoise and Victoria in silver (probably the dress she wore at the Kings 60th birthday party last year)
