thanks for the link, isnt a great visit always sem to be a bit too short? I enjoyed seeing the Swedish royal's though im not a follow up on their news. well maybe i am:)

Does Princess Benedikte take over some of Queen M's duties? because she was seen at a point with Queen Silvia

I loved all of Crown Princess Victoria's day outfits and especially her evening gowns.

The visit was too short in my opinion.

Everyone seemed interested in the places they visited. Both families have a fantastic relationship (especially Vicotria and Frederik, which was great to see them interact with each other throughout the visit). I loved seeing the magnificent tiaras, gowns, speeches, and official engagements.

Princess Benedikte does act as Regent when QM, Joachim, and/or are out of the country for whatever reason. During this visit I believe she was simply escorting QS to certain events whether it was in behalf of QM or not.

Honestly, I don't believe I know the correct answer.

Thanks for all the wonderful pics! I can't quite make the color of Victoria's dress. Depending on the lighting, it looks green or grey to me. Does anyone know for sure?

I am pretty sure that it's bottle-green, and sincerely AWESOME!

When the King and Queen of Sweden was on the state visit did CP Mary resive a order from Sweden ? Her husband, brother in-law and her mother and farther in-law has a order from Sweden but what about Mary ?
I can´t see it on their webpage...the only orders i can see Mary has resivede is from Norway and from Bulgaria but not from Sweden.

I know that she is on matirnaty leave but she was at the lunch in Fredernsborg Castel and in the photo with the familys from Sweden and Denmark.

She'll get it when Denmark does a State Visit to Sweden. I believe that's how she got her order from Norway.

It would be much easier if she would recived all orders on her wedding day.;) :D

To my knowledge, there hasn't been a state visit to Norway from Denmark in the three years Mary has been in the family. Only the state visit to Denmark from Norway, which is where I believe Mary got her Norwegian Order from

It will be interesting to see whether Mary does or does not get the Seraphim out of this state visit :ermm:

I think over the last week, the Danish Royal Family has been busy accompanied the Swedish Royals on engagements. The Royal Household could have been busy organising as well. So, i think, the State Visit has just finished on Friday, and now it is weekend, they could update the Orders if the Crown Princess received anytime from next week. And even if they do not update, when the next event associated with Sweden and the Crown Princess attends, she could wear on her Swedish order.

They've already updated the orders section of Prince Joachim, to include the Polar Star, the Swedish order he receieved during the state visit. But in Mary's section, the Seraphim/Polar Star hasn't been added. It still remains at this:
St. Olavs Orden, Storkors, Norge (No.St.0.1.)
Stara Planina Orden, 1. kl., Bulgarien (Bu.S.P.1.)

Maybe Mary didn't get an order? But I think it would be strange to give an order to the younger son of the monarch and not give one to the future King's wife!

Perhaps she didn't get it because she didn't participate. We only did see her once, and that was in the official photograph when the SRF arrived in Copenhagen.

One of the best state visits in the past couple years. Its obvious that the royal families from both countries are very close and its fun to see them genuinely laughing and smiling. Frederik and Victoria are clearly close and are comfortable with each other. The two families should be thankful to Queen Ingrid!

It would have been made complete though if Mary could have participated and Madeleine could have attended the return banquet or even the whole state visit (since Denmark is pretty close I don't think there would have been a regent problem, the whole family managed to attend the royal weddings in Denmark, Norway, and Spain).

I enjoyed reading about this visit. Lovely outfits worn all 3 days and the lovely closeness between the 2 families. Great pity that Mary was not able to be there.

I found the clip thank you. I can hear Queen Margrethe saying to him ''Can you see, can you see .... '' then her voice is broken because the clip is cut off.

I think he looks very surprised and a bit intimidated. Who can blame him, he doesn't know who these foreign people are.

No, I'm sorry, I'm very clumsy today, the link doesn't work and I can't edit my posts. Maybe a moderator can delete this nonsense, I'm a bit embarrassed ??? I just want the original link from Linda Hsu to be complete.

I think she also attended a private lunch straight after the photos were taken, which is all she did during the Norwegian state visit, although there were pictures of the lunch and she received an order then.
But until anything is published on their website, this is all pure speculation, and we are essentially going around in circles

I sa a pictur of Cp Victoria and she was wearing the order of the Elephant when she was attending the dinner in the eavning in Christiansborg...BUT it has been 32 years since the King of Sweden was in Denmark, so why is she wearing the order when CP Mary did not resive any order ?
And why did Prince Joachim resivede a order in the first place ?

As far as I remember Mary does have the order of the Elefant.

Sometimes Orders are also exchanged during other Visits. For example Prince Willem-Alexander has also the swedish Order of the Seraphim but the last State Visit from the King of Sweden to the Netherlands was in 1976.

Royal orders don't necessarily have to be awarded during state visits. Even if this is a common practice today there are many other opportunities when they can be conferred; like during official visits, special occasions like jubilees and other celebrations, or just during friendly calls in another country.

It's possible that Crown Princess Mary received a Swedish royal order during the private lunch at Fredensborg, but this we simply don't know yet, we have to wait and see.

My guess is that Crown Princess Victoria and others have received their orders during other types of visits, like I explained above. And why shouldn't Prince Joachim hold a Swedish royal order? He's a member of the Danish Royal Family to which the Swedish Royal Family have close connections and they meet regularly, so it's only natural that he holds it.

Both Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Prince Haakon of Norway were awarded with the Order of the Seraphim in 1993, by the way. I'm not sure when Prince Joachim got his though.

Great state visit!

I wish this state visit would have lasted longer. 3 days with 3 tiara events and 3 new evening gowns for Queen Silvia. Great!
And I must say that I did love CP Victoria's daytime outfits. She really surprised me by looking absolutely stunning on every single day. I love what she did with her hair and I love those feather creations, too.
Thanks to everyone who posted links. Good job. :flowers:

It is good alert King Carl Gustaf and Queen Margrethes uncle Count Carl Johan 90 year and his wife Gunnila Bernadotte come to Malmo.

In my personal opinion, Queen Margrethe looks thinner than last year.

now this is what i call a state visit....

I do think this was a very good time for CP Frederik, he seemed to enjoy himself so much in the company of CP Victoria, they 'swing' really well together it would appear :) - these two gave the whole state visit a memorable aura with their enthusiasm for each other, really good to see!
