Why would you even think about things like that? Bridal colors? Do you think there may be a subliminal message? That is so funny .

Yes it is, isn't it? Ah, the power of symbols in pictures.....

I was very astonished to see that it just takes 35 min. by train from Malm÷ Central to Copenhagen Central station with stops at Kastrup border and Kastrup airport. I'm sure from one of these stops there is a bus or tram line going to the shopping center, so it's fairly easy access. ( I just checked, Oerestad Station, where the shopping center is close by, is one stop before Copenhagen, only 27 min. from Malm÷ central on what German Rail calls "Oeresundzug"). As Sweden and Denmark are both EU, you don't even need a visa (if non-Schengen) or passport (Schengen states) to cross the border, so it's quite convenient, one may think.

I think this is one of the nicest state visits in recent years - both regarding the friendly atmosphere and the glamour factor.
Queen Silvia wore two new great evening gowns along with gorgeous jewelry -
Queen Margrethe looked suberb on the first night (I don't care for her combination of grand jewels with that spider-web dress at the Opera) -
CP Victoria looked lovelier than I've seen her in a long time.
I agree though that both mother and daughter (Silvia and Victoria) were a bit unfortunate with their choice of hats on day 2. Queen Silvia has a much better hat to go with that Natan outfit she's worn before than this great-grandmother-thing, and Victoria's hat looked like a bad copy of something Camilla Parker-Bowles wore to her wedding, erhhh, 'church blessing'.
But the only real regret is the absence of CP Mary (for obvious reasons), and CP Frederik maybe looking a bit uncomfortable - perhaps for the same obvious reason.
The clip of the Swedish Royal Couple at the Opera, both kind of tip-toeing through the revolving (and revolting too, given the glamorous location!) door of the Opera is really priceless. Shouldn't a grand building like this have another entrance than a warehouse-style revolving door? If one of the female Royals had worn a real long train, it could have turned into a major desaster!
The official return dinner is still coming up tonight at Malm÷, so everything would be perfect if ithis is yet another full tiara & decorations event...!

victoria looked fabulous! doesn't this white outfit look extremely elegant? i loved her headpieces during the trip. the gala gown in pink (and the recycled light blue one as well) was gorgeous! i specially liked the tiara she chose for the light blue gown. it seems to match perfectly. not so fond of the button tiara though.

Frederik and Victoria seem to have such a grat time whenever the're around each other. Victoria looked fantastic at the Opera yesterday, as did Queen Magrethe (I mean, wow!), and once again, they all looked very nice today.

But didn't like what Victoria was wearing yesterday ..

Victoria looked absolutely radiant on this visit. I think it was akward that Frederik was her escort the whole time. The photos of Fred. and Joachim both escorting her to the opera were very funny. What would they have done if Mary were around? Queen M. really outdid herself in the fashion dept. I think Queen Silvia's orange outfir at the mall and her green gown were AWFUL! They looked very 80's and cheap. A nice visit overall.

Queen Margrethe did look extremely regal it has to be said. Perfect choices. Crown Princess Victoria did too actually and Queen Silvia always seems to make the right decision. I especially liked the Brown suedy outfit she chose for the visit with Princess Benedikte.

Paty, thank you for the pictures. Queen Silvia looks nice, i like her simple hat, actually prefer it better than yesterdays, found it a bit weird.

What wonderful choices Victoria has made in her outfits! Is there a particular reason as to why Princess Benedikte also acts as a "host" during statevisits?

You have not needed a passport between Denmark and Sweden since 1954.

I work at nearby Copenhagen Central Station and my co-worker is from Malm°. Many people, both danish and swedish, live in Sweden and work in Copenhagen.

Royal return dinner is in Sweden, Malm°, which is rather unusual.

Princess Benedikte has always helped her sister with official duties - I suppose she is to Queen Margrethe what the Dutch princess Margriet is to her sister, Queen Beatrix.
Moreover, they said on TV that Princess Benedikte is a patron for the home she and queen Silvia visited today.
