It's official. Kronprinsesse Mary og kronprins Frederik hjælper dronning Margrethe | BILLED-BLADET

BB informs us that it will be M&F who will handle the upcoming state visit from Mexico.
The Regent Couple will receive the Mexican first couple at the airport and QMII will host the gala dinner, but everything else the first couple will be doing in DK they will be accompanied by M&F.
Partly because M&F have met the first couple before and also because they are close age-wise.

- And I'll add because M&F are taking over.

Odd thing to write considering F&M have handled most events in connection with State Visits for many years now and BB knows that.

And the press programme for the visit still says that PH attends only the welcome at Fredensborg. I guess time will tell.

This is great to hear, but again I did not expect anything else.
Frederik and Mary have had more events with the visiting presidential couples than the Queen during state visits for years while now.
:flowers:

looking forward to it

Right, lets have a look at what will happen today.

Shortly before 13.00 the DRF will gather at Copenhagen Airport.
Here QMII will inspect the honor guard from the Royal Lifeguard Regiment, that are lined up.
Then at 13.00 the Mexican President with First Lady will touch down and be received by the DRF. (The wind is calm, so no flying hats this time I'm afraid) Then the President and QMII will inspect the honor guard to the tune of the Colour March, played by fife and drums.

Then it's off to Fredensborg.
On the last stretch towards the palace the Guards Hussars will follow the cars and line up in the inner courtyard.
The Mexican First Couple will be shown their suite (which we have seen in the documentary) where they can wash their hands before the show continues.

Tonight there will be a gala dinner, also at Fredensborg. We should see guests arrive, including M&F, J&M and Benedikte. QMII and the President will be inside. I think it's likely both TV2 and DRI will cover the arrivals but right now I can't see if any of the networks will cover the speeches live.
But I think it's safe to say that both networks will show a brief summary of todays events prior to showing the more prominent guests arriving.

Thanks :flowers: The visit is a follow up to the Regent Couple's state visit in Mexico in2008 and the Crown Prince Couple's visit to Mexico in 2013.

It will be some busy days for especially the Presidential couple and the Crown Prince couple. Queen Margrethe is the official host, but as we have seen at every state visits the last years it's Frederik and Mary who actually act as the hosts, practically. They attend all the events during such a state visit and it's them who accompanies the President Couple on their days in Denmark.

Personally, I am excited to experience the Presidential Couple's and the Crown Prince Couple's visit to Kronborg Castle later today. It will be an experience for the Presidential Couple, I think.

TV2 won't cover this time. It will only be DR1, and they won't send live this time. DR1 will, however, send a summary of the day's events late tonight.

I don'ot know what does that some state visits get almost live coverage, and at other state visit we get almost nothing.

Aaaaaand to put on their gloves, which they could have done before or after the national hymn :whistling:

OMG! They "moved their hands" (?!?)... What´s stupid about their (actually very elegant!) outfits?!:bang:

Thanks, Polyesco. :flowers:

They had some stylish glasses back in 1583 methinks... :p

The thing on Frederik's lapel has that got something to do with Mexico?

Im watching it live right now

The coverage will continue until 21.00, so that must cover the speeches as well.

Watching the feed and had to laugh at the man who had to literally be pulled along by his wife to face the photographers :ROFLMAO:

The actor Mads Mikkelsen's wife took the full blame for them being late. Apparently they (she) had misunderstood something and went to Amalienborg 45 minutes away.

Oh well, these things happen.

Don't they have umbrellas in Northern Zealand?

I assume the yellow scarf (what's-the-name) is a Mexican order?

BT writes that the actor Mads Mikkelsen was especially requested by the Mexican President to attend the gala tonight.
Kongehuset med stor overraskelse til gallataffel: Her er gæsten, Mexicos præsident ikke ville undvære

He is the only actor present. Normally at state visits the guests are official representatives of the host country, politicians, diplomats and not least businessmen.

Ah long dresses and the rain, this should be a quick trip from the car to the covered walkway. Like the color of Marie's gown tonight.:)

You took the words out of my mouth! Why are the attendants greeting the cars not carrying umbrellas??? Very poor form!:bang::bang:

The sash is the Aztec Eagle order.

Heads of state are awarded the collar (Marge got it in 2008). Henrik got his sash in 2008 as well. As a consort he doesn't have a collar like his wife, but he has a different one then his sons and daughter in laws.

Frederik and Mary just arrived - very relaxed :)

Did they arrive in Krone 1?

Mary in a recycled long red gown and her new tiara. And also wearing a yellow order? Mexican?

Yes its the Order of the Aztec Eagle. Marge and Henrik got it in 2008. The younger couples got it this visit it seems.
