The President of Bulgaria and his wife begins a three day visit to Denmark from 29 to 31 of March.
Please post the news and pictures of this visit in this thread :)

Up to this point, the Royal Danish Court has not released any information regarding the scheduled activities during the visit. However, from the website of the International Press Centre one can conclude that:
  • Official photoes will be taken in the Chinese Room at Amalienborg Palace
  • The expected state banquet will also be held at Amalienborg
  • The President is to see an exhibition and hear a concert at the National Museum of Denmark.

Hi billie-jo!
According to the official calendar, TRH the Crown Prince Couple will attend the events in connection with the Bulgarian state visit.

/Lasse Pedersen

Here is the full programme of the state visit of HE Mr. Georgi Parvanov, President of the Republic of Bulgaria and Mrs. Zorka Parvanova.

March 29
10:00 The President and his wife are received by HM the Queen, HRH the Prince Consort and other members of the Danish Royal Family at Copenhagen Airport. After a presentation at the terminal, the guests and hosts leave for Christiansborg Palace at 10:20.
10:50 Escorted by the Royal Hussars, the motorcade departs from Christiansborg Palace.
11:15 The President, his wife and the Reigning Couple of Denmark arrive at Amalienborg Palace. The exchange of gifts and decorations, along with the taking of the official photo, will take place in the Chinese Room of Christian VII's Palace.
12:00 - 12:30 The President visits the Copenhagen Opera House (since Her Majesty is an avid opera fan, she might serve as a formidable 'tour guide' of the House. However, the press programme does not mention Her Majesty's participation in this part of the programme).
12:40 - 14:45 The President participates in a luncheon at the Danish Industry during which he will give a speech. Meanwhile, Mrs. Zorka Parvanova visits the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.
15:00 - 15:35 The President takes part in a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Resistant Movement Cemetery "Mindelunden" (again, the programme mentions no royal participation, but Her Majesty normally accompanies her guest on this traditional part of a state visit).
16:20 - 17:20 The President addresses the Danish Foreign Policy Society at the Royal Library.
17:20 The President meets the Bulgarian community at the Royal Library and returns to Amalienborg Palace at 17:55.
20:00 STATE BANQUET for the President and Mrs. Zorka Parvanova. The speeches will be televised.

March 30
07:45 The President and Mrs. Zorka Parvanove leave Amalienborg Palace.
07:55 Arrival at the royal lounge of Copenhagen Railway Station.
08:00 Departure for Århus, the second largest city of Denmark, by special train. The Bulgarian delegation has requested to be shown the most modern in IT and waste disposal technology.
11:00 Arrival at Århus Railway Station, transport to Århus City Hall.
11:10 Arrival at Århus City Hall. Official reception during which the host for the day, Mr. Nicolai Wammen, Mayor of Århus, will give a speech and a Bulgarian choir will perform.
11:45 Arrival at IT-centre "Katrinebjerg". The President takes a tour of the premises. Meanwhile, Mrs. Zorka Parvanova visits the art museum of Århus, "ARoS".
12:30 The President arrives at Waste-Centre Århus and visits the premises.
13:10 The President and Mrs. Zorka Parvanova visit "the Old Town" where Mayor Nicolai Wammen will host a luncheon at 13:30. At 14:45 the couple's motorcade departs for Århus Railway Station.
14:57 The train leaves Århus, headed for Copenhagen.
17:55 Arrival at Copenhagen Railway Station. Departure for Amalienborg Palace.
19:15 - 22:50 The President and his wife host a return arrangement for the Danish Royal Family consisting of a concert, exhibition and buffet. The event takes place at the National Museum.

March 31
In the morning, HM the Queen and HRH the Prince Consort take leave of HE President Parvanov and Mrs. Parvanova. The President will write the guest book and window pane. The rest of the day is devoted to politics and will thus be without royal participation. Whilst the President is at the Danish Parliament and talks to HE Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Mrs. Zorka Parvanova visits the porcelain factory "Royal Copenhagen". After a joint luncheon hosted by the Prime Minister, the couple depart for Bulgaria from Copenhagen Airport at 15:40.

Great to see Princess Alexandra attending the dinner

Argh, it's frustrating. I heard the Marching band earlier than usual at work, but I didn't think about it being because of this... But the cars were still outside Amalienborg when I left work, so I took a picture...

I love Mary outfit, especially hat and pumps. And this suit is very smart and modern.

CP Mary looks stunning! I love this red hut! :)
Queen Margrethe seems to wear her favourite outfit. She looks great too, in her well-known dress.;)

Hi all !!
Does anyone know why Prince Joachim was not attended the dinner??

could it be because the HRH Queen did not want the press ask him about his girlfriend??

I thought he wasn't in Denmark. Anyhow, thanks to all those who posted those pictures. Princess Mary looks great. Although her outfit was simple, the way she mixed the burgandy shoes and hat are great. Can't wait to see what she will wear for tonight's dinner.

I know, I can't wait either, I hope Mary will be wearing a really beautiful dress. I can't believe how quickly she got back to her slim figure after giving birth!

Well, it is easy to get your figure back when you don' t have to worry about paying bills and you have alot of free time during the day. As for Mary's outfit this is the best one I have seen her wear in awhile. It is nicely event appropriate. She didn't overdo her look at all and her outfit is age appropriate as well.

When will the Gala start? I also cannot wait to see them all. :)

I believe it has already started, 8 o'clock isn't it, in the Netherlands it's the same time as in Denmark and here it is around 20.40h.

HI! This is my very first reply - just to say that as a dane I feel proud to have two such pretty princesses to represent my country...

I think Mary's hair and tiara is perfect tonight - but why is she not wearing the Order of the Elephant?

Have Alexandra returned the large necklace she was wearing at Fred and Mary's wedding after the divorce? She has not been seen with it since...
