Schedule of the Royal Yacht Dannebrog 2006, 2007

On April 25, the Royal Danish Court released this year's schedule for the Royal Yacht Dannebrog (link in Danish: http://kongehuset.dk/artikel.php?id=77202). It is as follows:

April 28
The Reigning Couple commences the season of 2006 by boarding the Royal Yacht Dannebrog, anchored at buoy no. 1 in Copenhagen Harbour at 12.00. At the same time, the battery “Sixtus” salutes.
The Royal Yacht will arrive in Ellsinore, and at 14.30, a salute will be fired from Kronborg Castle. The Reigning Couple disembarks in Ellsinore at 15.00.

May 24
The Reigning Couple arrive in Athens, Greece, aboard the Royal Yacht at 10.00. An official visit is paid in Greece until May 26.

June 21 and June 22
TRH the Crown Prince Couple pay a visit to Bornholm aboard the Royal Yacht. The Crown Prince Couple arrive Rønne on June 21 at 10.00.

June 28
HM the Queen arrives in Ebeltoft aboard the Royal Yacht at 09.00. The Royal Yacht anchors offshore at Ebeltoft. On this day, the Queen will visit the “Glasmuseet Ebeltoft” (i.e. a museum for international contemporary glass art in Denmark. The Queen is there to visit the new wing of the museum) and the frigate “Jylland”.

June 29
The Reigning Couple arrive in Haderslev aboard the Royal Yacht at 10.00 on the occasion of the presentation of new colours for Skrydstrup Airport and the National Meeting of the Danish Gymnastics and Sports Associations (in Danish: DGI).

July 1
The Reigning Couple arrive in Århus aboard the Royal Yacht at 10.00 in order to take up residence at Marselisborg Palace.

July 21
The Reigning Couple arrive in Sønderborg aboard the Royal Yacht at 10.00 in order to take up residence at Gråsten Palace.

September 4
The Reigning Couple arrive in Struer aboard the Royal Yacht at 10.00 in order to participate in the commemoration of the founding of Struer-Holstebro Harbour.

September 5
The Royal Yacht anchors up offshore at Lemvig at 08.00. The Reigning Couple pays an official visit in Hvide Sande.

September 6
The Reigning Couple arrive in Thyborøn at 10.00. An official visit is paid in Thyborøn-Harboøre.

September 19
At 15.00, the Reigning Couple officially disembarks the Royal Yacht Dannebrog at “Nordre Toldbod” to mark the ending of the season. The battery “Sixtus” salutes.

I read in Helsingborgs Dagblad today that this year (2007) the first sighting of Dannebrog (with a traditional cannon salute) from Kronborg will be at May 26th, which incidently is the birthday of the crown prince.

If it's a day off for me and I know the schedule a little better I will try to get a picture !!! Let's hope it's a sunny day.

There was also a cannon salute today for the Vædderen exploration ship, and the other day a massive one for the birth of the baby princess. So there's no need to worry that the cannons at Kronborg will get clogged with dust. The Danes are ready for the enemy!

Tuesday, May 8
The Reigning Couple commence the season and board the royal yacht, docking at boy 1 in Copenhagen Harbour, at 12.00 from Nordre Toldbod. Salutes are fired from the Sixtus battery at 12.00.
The Reigning Couple disembark at Nordre Toldbod at 14.30.

Saturday, May 26
The Reigning Couple are aboard The Royal Yacht on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the first hoisting of the standard on The Royal Yacht. Salutes will be fired from Kronborg Castle at 10.00 and from the battery Sixtus at 12.00.

Wednesday, June 13
The Reigning Couple arrive at Holbæk aboard The Royal Yacht at 10.00 and pay a visit to Holbæk and Ruds Vedby.

Thursday, June 14
The Reigning Couple arrive at Frederiksværk aboard The Royal Yacht at 10.00 and pay a visit to the town.

Saturday, June 16
The Reigning Couple arrive at Århus aboard The Royal Yacht at 10.00 in order to take up residence at Marselisborg Palace.

Wednesday, July 4 – Sunday, July 8
The Reigning Couple and The Crown Prince Couple sail Norwegian waters on the occasion of HM Queen Sonja’s 70th birthday aboard The Royal Yacht, accompanied by the Norwegian Royal Yacht ‘Norge’.

Tuesday, July 17
The Reigning Couple arrive at Sønderborg aboard The Royal Yacht at 10.00 and pay a visit to the town before taking up residence at Gråsten Palace.

Friday, September 14
The Reigning Couple arrive at Skive aboard The Royal Yacht at 10.00 and pay a visit to the town.

Tuesday, September 18
The Reigning Couple disembark from The Royal Yacht ‘Dannebrog’ at Nordre Toldbod at 15.00 to mark the ending of the season. Simultaneously, salutes are fired from the battery Sixtus.

The royal calendar states that the reigning couple were already on board when the Dannebrog was saluted at Kronborg, at ten o'clock. Frederik, Mary, et. al, boarded around 12.15 in Copenhagen.
