I love that photo of astrid looking through her purse. so human! royals really are normal people!

Thank you for the pictures from yesterday.:) They're very lovely and everyone looks so happy and relaxed in them.

Thanks for the pics! I'm glad they all seem to get along well, they're a close nit family. And Mathilde looks great again, but perhaps I should stop saying that ;):)

where is Laurent & Claire?
did they cancel this event?

3 small children (with 2 babies who make a somewhat difficult start) probably take a lot of time and energy ...

And now we know the babies went out of the hospital yesterday, we assumer Laurent and Claire wanted to enjoy the first day of the babies at home.

yes, Danielane & Hannelore... you're both right.
2 little boys and a girl growing-up would take up a lot of energy.
With Aymeric & Nicolas leaving home the next day, i guess their focus is more on their health (more important).
i just hope we get to see the family soon.

I think they're new, but she already wore them at Amalia's baptism.

I have read that French is the "diplomatic" language and that English is the "international" language. Does anyone know if French is assumed to be spoken at an event like this?

I think it is english at these sorts of events. its just documents that are written up in french. though of course since the coburgs are all french speakers they will opt for that first.

Thanks for all the photos. I agree that the Queen and Princess Mathilde look very elegant (but doesn't she always?;) ). I especially like the Princess' hair, very lovely.

I agree. her hair has been great recently. its so beautifully curled up in the back. i wish maxima would emulate her belgian counterpart in the hair department.

French used to be the diplomatic language worldwide in the 19th and early 20th century, but English has since long taken over that role. I suppose the members of the Belgian RF speak French to those who most easily speak French and English to the others.
