Visit chez Barry-Callebaut, located in Wieze (Lebbeke)
Before visiting the chocolate factory which is largest in the world, the Sovereign attends a meeting of work. The visit is enclosed with a demonstration by craftsman-chocolate sellers at the time of a reception, in the presence of staff representatives.

More photos of the academic session in the senate for the 175th anniversary of the Belgian constitution.

Philippe, Astrid and Laurent are senators by right.

There were speeches by

- senotor Hugo Vandenberge (the rights and liberties of the constitution)
- senator Francis Depérée (the constitution and the parlementary system)
- senator Patrick Vankrunkelsven (the constitution and federalism).

1. how often do they have to go to the senate being senators by right?
2. http://img9.imagevenue.com/img.php?l...d_00857678.jpg
Astrid: Laurent, please at least try to look interested in what they have to say
Laurent: but I don't want to *pouts*pouts*
Phillippe: here we go again, is the same thing year after year *sighs*
3. I know this isn't the subject of this thread but I have two questions:
3.1 What is Astrid's rank in the Military?
3.2 Is there a thread on information about her engagement and wedding?
Thanks a lot

Does anybody held the title of Prince of Liège these days?
Did the title merge with the crown?
How close (by blood bonds) are the Belgian and Swedish RFs?

Thanks in advance to all those who answer my questions

The last one to hold the title prince de Liège was king Albert, and I think it's probably still one of his titles.

King Albert's mother was a Swedish princess. She was the sister of a.o. King Harald's mother.

Oh my gosh! That is fantastic -- and just in time for Valentine's Day! (Having written that, I wonder if you all in Belgium eat chocolate on that day? But here in the US -- we give and eat lots of great chocolate!)

Wasn't Queen Astrid a sister of the father of the actual Swedish King?

No, Astrid's father and Carl Gustav's grandfather were brothers.
