Does anybody held the title of Prince of Liège these days?
Did the title merge with the crown?
How close (by blood bonds) are the Belgian and Swedish RFs?

Thanks in advance to all those who answer my questions ;)

The last one to hold the title prince de Liège was king Albert, and I think it's probably still one of his titles.

King Albert's mother was a Swedish princess. She was the sister of a.o. King Harald's mother.

Great! Thanks for the photos -- now I am hungry after seeing the Callebaut!

This is something else to make you hungry... :) As a gift the king received a chocolate motorbike (his beloved hobby) that weighs 80 kg!!

Oh my gosh! That is fantastic -- and just in time for Valentine's Day! (Having written that, I wonder if you all in Belgium eat chocolate on that day? But here in the US -- we give and eat lots of great chocolate!)

Wasn't Queen Astrid a sister of the father of the actual Swedish King?

Hunting accident?

Hi everybody!
I write this message here because I don't know where to place it.
Is it true that somewhere in the late 60s or early 70s King Albert of Belgium had a hunting accident? (He shot his foot or leg) If so, could anyone provide more details?
Thank you in advance! :)

Ebay on sale puts documents of the Belgian Royal Family

A series of documents of the Royal Family of Belgium will be on sale in the Internet eBay next day 22, without the approval of the Royal House. According to the Free Belgique has published the newspaper, between documents appears a passport of King Baudouin, a passport of Princess Josephine Charlotte, as well as the report of Prince Albert of Liege. In spite of not being considered illegal, the sale was described by the Royal Family like "not very elegant".

Thank you so much for these photos, Purple Platinum. You do so much work posting on so many different threads and it is always appreciated! It looks like a windy, rainy day in Brussels but it is still nice to see members of this lovely family!

I miss the presence of Queen Fabiola and Princess Astrid, where are they?

On the Belgian news they said Princess Astrid wasn't there because she fell this morning. They didn't mention if it was serious.

On the website of the Belgian Roral family, they mention that the sister of Queen fabiola has died om February 11th in Madrid. She was buried on the 12th. Fabiola was there. So maybe that's why she's wasn't at the mass today.

5. King Albert II visits a textile factory in Ardooie.

6. Queen Paola visits the folkloric house in Brussels for the exhibition of the Noirauds, they collect money for mothers who can't afford diapers etc. The members paint their faces black to not be recognized. One year Philippe and Laurent participated (you can see a photo of them). Nobody recognized them!

7. Royal etiquette: are you allowed to kiss the royals?
At the beginning of this exerpt you can see images of Mathilde in China in that fabulous green gown. You can also see its back side, I had never seen it before. It's cut out quite low, and very beautiful and sexy IMO.

Indeed, amazing fabulous. It remembers me of the dress Lilian wore at the first gala-bal during the wedding of Fabiola & Boudewijn. Also velvet with a quite low cut.
