In the biography about her a few posts up on this page it says she's born June 11th 1928. So she'll be 77 this year.
Don't know about a news thread about her though.

A mass was celebrated in Brussels for the inauguration of pope Benedict XVI. Queen Fabiola, princess Margaretha of Luxemburg / Liechtenstein and archduke Rudolph of Austria were there.

It is quite obvious that King Baudoin and Queen Fabiola had/have a particularly close relationship with Prince Phillippe. I remember reading in the 80's that they were going to make Philliplpe king after Baudoin.
