I don't know if anyone else noticed, but it seems as if these past weeks, princess Astrid has been taking special care of her hair (new hairdresser? ). It always looks nice, and she's been experimenting with new hairdoes...

1. Princess Astrid is a leftanant-colonel in the medical service of the Belgian army.
2. November 20th, 1996, Astrid became a member of the Belgian senate. A right that the children of the Belgian kings have.

So unlike British Royals, other royals can get involved in politics. That is awesome. can they vote?

Astrid (like Philippe and Laurent) is a member of senate in her own right, she's not of any particular party. In Belgium voting is obligatory, so the princes vote as well. Only the king and queen don't, to stay neutral.
The princes (and Astrid) as well will none the less never comment their political choice.
