Princess Elisabeth was sick and Eleonore to little that is why they where not with there parents.

What a nice idea to bring them anyway. It's always great to see them :)

Thabks for the info Marika and iceflower. :flowers:

Another video clip, focussing on the family, while vtm has been on the nagging side of life again.

Videozone
They bought “The knights of the round kitchen table” (the King Arthur theme adapted for kids) for Elisabeth. It was signed by the author himself, who -by talking to her parents- got the impression that Elisabeth loves reading.
Gabriel perhaps too, because here he already checks the first pages it seems.

They also purchased audio books, Gabriel explicitly asked if there are songs on the CD as well and the kids were fascinated by the illustrator who admitted he got the jitters while drawing a picture for them. And they met Geronimo Stilton. Gabriel knows this storybook character very well and wanted to buy many books, but mom intervened and he got only one. Life is hard. :D
All in all they bought quite a lot books though and another article mentions that Emmanuel dragged his mother from one colourful corner with books to the next.
The visit lasted 1,5h and the family was accompanied by Majo De Saedeleer, director of Stichting Lezen. Stichting Lezen organizes reading sessions for children and Princess Mathilde is one of their prominent readers. Majo de Saedeleer once mentioned they phone each other frequently and discuss children books.

According to Ludo Permentier, chairman of the Dutch Language Union, Mathilde's Dutch is 'meer dan behoorlijk' (better than proper). Princess Máxima was also supposed to attend the anniversary, but due to the re-schedueled wedding of the duke of Parma she had to cancel.
