Princess Mathilde Plays Mum during Royal Visit

There was no mistaking Princess Mathilde of Belgium's mothering touch when she paid a visit to children at a family care centre in Antwerp on Thursday.

The elegant mum-of-three, smartly dressed in a burgundy skirt and jacket, cuddled and played with the youngsters who immediately warmed to their royal guest.

Not long back from an Easter break to Spain with her husband Prince Philippe and their children, five-year-old Elisabeth, Gabriel, three, and the newest member of the family, baby Emmanuel, the princess was obviously keen to get back into her work with kids.

In addition to her commitment to children's causes in her homeland, the 33-year-old royal also criss-crosses the globe in her role as UNICEF's Special Representative for HIV/AIDS-affected children.

Thank you all so much for the great photos. They must have witnessed a couple different Semana Santa processions. I also share your thoughts on Gabriel - he is just a honey of a child. I also think Philippe looks more and more distinguished as he ages...somehow his grey hair really suits him. May I ask someone -- I have seen Philippe spelled several different ways on this board -- is it one or two "l"'s and one or two "p"'s? Thanks for the help.

In Flemish it's Filip (the way he writes his name in Flanders), in French it's Philippe (so 1 L and 2 Ps, the way he writes his name in Wallonia).
