Princess Mathilde is such an elegant lady!
Nice to see her visiting College d'Europe in Brügge to talk on this interesting an important issue. It's a great school and lovely town - with an extra elegant touch from Mathilde being there today! :)

GREAT photos! As always she is so appropriate in every situation, even with the upset child! And, Purple Platinum, how nice of you to post some without the watermarks.

The duchess was present at the European College for a speech on microcredit, followed by a round table talk with the students on this subject, where they also presented their projects in this field to her. Afterwards there was time for an informal talk.
Tonight Mathilde is present at "the Gala of the stars of the dance" at the royal ballet school in Antwerp. This is held once every 5 years. The princess already visited the school in 2001

I dont know how reliable this newspaper is but it is very intresting. We may see a Queen Mathilde very soon. I dont know how I feel about the monarch loosing the little power he has. The kings little power helps balance the power scale a little but I do understand the worry.

What was wrong with the child?
Mathilde looks absolutley lovely...as always. SHe's still MY favorite Princess. :)
Hmmm...interesting article. I think it's unfair to limit Filip just because of his opinions. There would only one POV, and no outside areas...I don't like it. But then again, I don't live in Belgium, so I don't exactly know what they're talking about in respect to his 'bad' behaviour...

Prince Johny you might want to check on the Belgian Royal Family thread because we've been "talking" about that speech/news article over the past couple of days. Hopefully it's a quickly passing storm.

It's already past. You could hardly call it a storm, just shouting from a few monkeys outside parliament (because it was never even discussed in parliament) who don't have a lot of support. Things get blown up by the papers who invent little extras to sell more.
The king's speech was written by the king himself, then read by the prime minister and approved. The king defended his country and the silent majority that's happy to live in it. And he was right too!
We will certainly not see the king's power diminish, and he will reign untill his death (which is hoepfully still a long way from here). He's a very popular and much appreciated king of the Belgians.
Anyone who has followed Philippe the last years knows that he's perfectly capable of being king. He's always on the side of his people, trying to unite them. The RF's popularity among the population is probably what those pathetic politicians who can't get any votes are jealous of.

Wow! What a necklace! Is Mathilde's sister, Elisabeth, still involved in jewelry design? I was wondering yesterday if that pin was one of her creations and I am now wondering if this stunning necklace is? Any ideas?
Thanks for all the great photos!
