This is a very typical situation....
If Caroline wears a dress that obviously seems somehow strange to everybody then she's still GORGEOUS ...., if Stephanie weares a dress that might seem strange or extravagant then she is simply SCANDALOUS .....I guess Steph has no chance to win this game, right ....so I think it's the right choice she makes in not playing it....

There is also a difference in the "bad" choices Caroline makes and the "bad" choices Stephanie makes. It's not just that Stephanie's choices are "strange" or "extravagant" but that they are often inappropriate or too revealing for the occasions she wears them to.

This maternity evening gown Caroline has worn at the Rose Ball is not one of Caroline's best and ranks as one of the worst outfits I've ever seen Caroline wear, but it is not too revealing or bares too much skin. Whereas gowns I've seen Stephanie wear to the Rose Ball are much, much too skimpy, such as one black dress that cut down through her clevage, bared her belly, even as toned as it is, is a bit too much skin for such a formal, elegant occasion.

Caroline has errored on the side of dowdy on this occasion but Stephanie generally errors on the side of skimpy and that is the difference.

Great pics from the party! I really wished I could have been there since the environment looks so festive and carnavalistic Caroline looked stunning!

There's this pic where Caro talks with a black hair woman...I think she looks like Ines de la Fressange, one of Caro's best friends.

I agree Genevieve Caroline's dresses are a lot different than Stephanie's... Caroline's dresses are never "trashy" and sometimes Stephanie's are... but that just MY opinion.

The Monegasque royals have marked the arrival of Spring with their traditional Rose Ball. Princess Caroline wore an unusual white gown with blue ribbons when she welcomed old friends Karl Lagerfeld and Rudolph Valentino to the Monte Carlo Sporting Club.

Brazil was the theme for this year's event and the revellers were treated to an unforgettable performance by some scantily-clad tropical dancers. But there was also an international flavour to the evening, as Prince Albert mingled with the likes of American model Brad Kroenig and British singer Shirley Bassey.

Notable by their absence, however, were Princess Stephanie and her father Prince Rainier. It is believed the 81-year-old monarch, who was hospitalised a fortnight ago after developing a chest infection, decided to rest in the royal palace.

The Rose Ball is considered the most important event in Monaco's social calendar. Year after year the cream of Monegasque society is joined by showbiz stars and aristocrats from all over the world, as the royal family plays host to a lavish banquet in the heart of Monte Carlo. Proceeds from the bash go to the Princess Grace Foundation, which helps disadvantaged children.

Pierre and Andreas resemble each other a lot now. Not so much a few years ago but in their faces a resemblance I think. Is Pierre really taller than his older brother now?
