Back to work after the summer break for the justice tribunal in
presence of Prince Albert of Monaco, Monaco, October 1, 2009:

I can't remember having seen similar pics in previous years before
or have I simply forgotten it?!

I don't know why, I have a feeling I have already remembered seeing these photos.
PA looks very nice, thank you for posting, Iceflower!:flowers:

Prince Albert now is in Copenhagen, Denmark, for the
121st IOC Session and 13th Olympic Congress that will
take place from October 1st-9th. He's been pictured
with U.S. first lady Michelle Obama at a reception following
the opening Ceremony.
It's not known how long he will stay at the session and
congress, but please use the following thread for pics and
discussions about his attendece:

As if there wasn't enough going on in Monaco already - here's yet another cause for celebration:

On October 5th, Monaco celebrates the fifth anniversary of becoming a member of the Council of Europe.
For the Conseil National, Stephane Valéri appeared at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe this week, at the invitation of the President of its Parliamentary Assembly. The visit is to "tidy up" issues which hadn't been fully addressed by the Monégasque government. After an hour-long debate, the Assembly decided unanimously that Monaco had addressed most of the outstanding matters for concern.

From the Council of Europe website, "Document 12012" from September 14th, 2009,
"Honouring of obligations and commitments by Monaco" from the Committee on the Honouring of Obligations and Commitments by Member States of the Council of Europe (Monitoring committee):

One of the still outstanding matters, the Social Charter, still awaits approval by Monaco's Conseil d'Etat (Council of State), to see if/when it can become part of Monegasque law.

The Prince had requested personally that this would have been done in September 2009, and he told the CoE that he wished "to see the Charter ratified by the end of the year".
(So it's not just Obama who has to wait patiently for others to get on with a particular issue or job)

This is the link to the (lenghty) Council of Europe document on Monaco:

Better late than never, Nice-Matin's article, and photo (with PA) of the start of the judiciary year in Monaco which started on October 1st.

The average length of detention was 38 days for minors and 96 days for adults.

More time is spent on fighting money-laundering. and less on "pédopornographie".

Thanks for the link. It's a rare treat to see Prince Albert in Monaco, enthroned, looking all so very princely with his berobed judges around him. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen a photo of him quite like this one, but I like it, I wish there were more of them or others of similar occasions.

Yes, I feel the same. He can "do" gravitas when required.
What I've always found sad is that after becoming Reigning Prince, he (and his predecessors) can only sit on the throne for a little while on that day, but never again.
Makes you wonder what the throne is for :)

:throne:While PA does look Whuan-derful on his 'throne' After all, he is a 'working' PA and an extremely busy and good one at that! The pics with PA doing his 'work' that he does always seem to never reveal the enormous amounts of work that happens behind the pics such as these. However, he does seem to have a lot of fun at it:crown7:

Prince Albert hosted yesterday evening a charity gala for "European Organization for the research and Treatment of Cancer" in Monaco.

Prince Albert is shining with happiness, he and Princess Victoria look very lovely together.

Yes, they look very good together - shame they both have partners .....

Must be nice, though, having dinner on the stage of an opera house !

Great to see an event in Monaco with that many other royals!

CP Victoria looked great, and Albert too.
It would have been nice to see Caroline or Stephanie there, as well as the Casiraghi Trio. Seem like it was a wonderful gala.

Besides the charity dinner Prince Albert also attended an
exhibition yesterday, Halle des Pecheurs, Monaco, October
9, 2009:

:hellokitty: The pics of PA & VICTORIA turned out fab! The setting of the opera must have made for a fabulous event and for so worthy a cause too! Victoria's outfit was delightful so elegante`. The table was set beautifully it seems they thought of everything as always in the setting. However, with the backdrop of the opera it's pretty hard to go wrong:harvest:
