A few days ago I made reference to PA's football team, the "Barbajuans".

The team is named after a Monegasque speciality.

On the VisitMonaco site, there are some recipes including the Barbajuans!

There are also three recipes courtesy of the Société des Bains de Mer (SBM):

"Prince Albert Millefeuille Pastry with Strawberries and Whipped Cream"
"Asparagus Risotto with Jus de Viande"
and "Langoustines à la Provencale, cooked in a pot"

To me it's not clear whether Albert is still in Abu Dhabi
or if only the pictures were released today, because
the caption says:

" In a handout picture received from Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi on
January 25, 2010 shows Prince Albert II (C), a renowned Ferrari
fan, during an exclusive tour of the Gulf emirate's Ferrari World
theme park, set to open on Yas Island off Abu Dhabi in the second
half of the year. Prince Albert, a passionate car collector, was
offered a private tour inside the 86,000m2 park. "

However it's been during the last days ;)

Either way, he'll have to be "in pole position" for Sainte Dévote on Tuesday evening !
Otherwise she might take revenge.....

:hellokitty: oh yumm those receipes look dee-lightfull ! Although we would stand a healthy dose of meat with these recipes--they really do inspire! Pa always looks whuan-derful. The theme park must have been a good break from the daily routine! :heartflower:

 Let us better not give it any thought ;)

By the way I've found out that Albert has made that visit to
the facilities of the future Ferrari World Abu Dhabi yesterday,
January 24! So he stayed a bit longer there.

Who is the woman in the first picture?

Does anyone know when (or if) we'll get photos of Albert at the charity football match in Monte Carlo? There's a photo on Belga of Michael Schumacher waving to his daughter and it says in the caption that Albert will (or was?) playing too. Anyone know? :ermm:

Glistening Seas

:rose:Perhaps the pics were put up a little later than the occurence of the event or someone fudged on the dates?! it happens! Although if PA was playing it would have been wonderful to have pics of the event or maybe they will post later:heartflower:

Whoa, never mind. I got the dates totally wrong. Turns out it was a photo from eleven years ago, but it was posted today. Or something like that. Sorry everyone!

Who is the woman in the first picture?

I think she's a representative of the whole company or a
translator, there's no information given.

Thecia, you've obviously found old pics as you've later noticed
yourself, the latest charity football match in Monaco has been
the one during the Circus Festival last week, but Prince Albert
only watched it this time. Next chance to maybe see him play
will be the charity football match between racing drivers and
celebrities prior to the Formula One Grand Prix of Monaco in
May :flowers:

No sooner is Sainte Dévote over, there is the Monte-Carlo Historic Rally, from Friday January 29th until Wednesday February 3rd.....

I wonder whether PA has taken some time to enjoy the "Fête aux Citrons", the annual Lemon Festival at Menton next door.....

Gistening Seas

:thistle:It would be great to see the pics from both.

:twohearts:Does PA usually go to the festival of lemmons?? the pics of PA on the bobsled event were fab so glad to see PA did so well.

:thistle: although not surprising though -- after all it's his sport!:heartflower:

Prince Albert attended the official ceremony of the change
of leadership of the fire brigade of Monaco held at the

Thanks for the pics as always iceflower you have outdone yourself-
Prince Albert certainly does appear to be a genuinely "personable" royal.

More stuff about the "Change of the Guard" at the Monegasque Fire Brigade:

The new Commandant of the "sapeurs-pompiers" is Tony Varo, now aged 44, (pictured below, as he receives his special pennant from the Prince). It was his childhood dream and his life's ambition to become Commander. He became a cadet at the tender age of 12, and comes from the Pyrénées where they meet the Mediterranean.

Another example of how much the lives of the people of Monaco are bound up with the lives of the Princely Family. Tony Varo: "I am proud to serve the Sovereign".

The Fire Brigade now has plans for a new Training Centre to help future firemen and women to become more educated about the current and future risks from fire and other calamities.

You are most welcome as always, Jaya, and thanks for the
additional information, Renata4711 !

The Imagina 2010 (the international 3D Market for professionals)
organized by Monaco Mediax and held at the Grimaldi Forum fair
ground is running from February 3rd till February 5th,
Albert attended it today:

I've found some additions to the pics from Tuesday I like, especially
the fourth one as it gives a rare chance to see a special detail in the
courtyard. By the way, Albert's hair is extremely short again.

:rose: Oh the last pics is indeed quite nice. Thats a setting that we have never seen PA pics in and it's quite extraordinary very nice!

:thistle: It how guys these days are wearing their hair so short like that however, it looks quite nice on PA. Otherwise he'd probably have a mop of curls and then where would he be which is why he keeps it so short!

:rose:The 3d event pics did turn out nice say nifty tie in the other pics too! :heartflower:

The children had painted the panels as a present to PA.

PA wore the suit that he wore on the expedition, as well as some of the equipment.

He left a DVD about ecological matters - his slogan: "Il faudrait qu'on devienne tous écolos" - We all have to become ecologists.

Glistening Seas

:rose:It must have been an fun change of pace for the children!
:books: looks like a high energy group so getting them to sit still long enough for the event was indeed an accomplishment!:heartflower:

PA is going to be very busy - the Winter Olympics (12th - 28th Feb. - and in the middle of it, the Challenge Albert II sailing competition on February 20th and 22nd, organised by the Société Nautique de Monaco (founded in 1898).
PA is very committed to this event; his grandad Jack Kelly won three gold medals in rowing, and his uncle John Kelly was also a strong rower.

Prince Albert attending a curling event at the Port of Monaco,
February 7, 2010. Not one of his best outfits ;) but it seems
he had a lot of fun!

:thistle:So glad they posted such fab pics! Curling is a difficult sport. It seems PA is quite talented if he can master

:rose:Curling especially it being so new a sport that's been added to the olympics.

:thistle:The outfit while not being dressy looks comfy and w-a-r-m!! :heartflower:

It seems there's nearly no winter sports Albert is not talented in :)

Prince Albert II of Monaco joins European business leaders in promoting
inclusion and acceptance of people with intellectual disabilities, February
5, 2010. The forum maps out strategies for Special Olympics to reach
more children and adults with intellectual disabilities across Europe and
Central Asia.

:thistle:Pa's work to promote the Special Olympics is delightful!! Certainly one of the more rewarding aspects is to share the joys of accomplishment with those whom win. :heartflower:

It is awesome that Albert has been promoting Special Olympics for so many years.
