Prince Albert at Nice airport returning home after a
long weekend in France, February 23, 2009

I am just curious, how he is returning from Nice airport to Monaco. He is known to use helicopter quite often. But here it seems that he was getting into car. By helicopter would be faster and MC has good heliport, but on the other hand by car is more discreet, something P.Albert probably prefers.:cool:

:eek: Do you 'really" think it was a sad face??? Perhaps maybe he was just thinking concentrating on watching where he was going or on work?? what could have been causing any sadness you think?? Sometimes camera shoots pics at an inbetween moment where there is nothing happening to illicit a reaction of any kind and hence, the appearance of sadness when it was merely deep thought??? hope!!:popcorn:
 
Prince Albert visited the exhibition "Fernando Botero et le cirque"
( Fernando Botero and the circus) in Monaco this week. I'm not
sure about the correct date, but between February 24 and 27 ;)

The Botero exhibition has been running since November and closes today, March 1st.
It is/was in the Villa Sauber on Avenue Princesse Grace, a beautiful building which now houses the New National Museum of Monaco (NMNM).

:) Now, botero, thaaat's an interesting and creative exhibit do you suppose??? People in his age in history had an obsession not unlike the "skinny" obsession we all have here in Society today. Only back then it was you were not cool unless you were PLUMP to the max overweight?? Whaaat a surprise!!!:lol: while Botero isn't equal in my own personal preference to Monet etc Botero is still quite creative and happy and good artist!!:polarbear:
 
Yes, and it's Albert at his best - networking with eminent people, from all walks of life, and being open, friendly, attentive, and focussed on tasks and on people.

UNFORTUNATELY, once this meeting is over, he and his government will have to concentrate on the G20 (Group of Twenty) London Summit on April, 2nd 2009.

This is where the Principality, along with other "paradis fiscaux" or tax havens, will come yet again under the spotlight of The Twenty, this year presided over by the United Kingdom.

This morning's Nice-Matin online's headline:
"Monaco wants to leave the blacklist"
The final paragraph of the article reports that the Principality is introducing a new law against money laundering.

Let's hope that Albert's environmental achievements don't get overshadowed by years of attacks by the OECD and other nations.

It's good to see another law into place to nip the money laundering in the bud. Monaco works hard to keep it's banking sector clean. As far as the envioronment it's good that Monaco take an interest in leading the way to help stem the tide of global warming.:sun::thistle:

I don't think it will and this is possive news for Monaco. I am always glad when the news focuses on what Albert is doing for Monaco and not on his current/past/ girlfriends. JMO

Fifty six:ohmy: ambassadors is a lot, especially for a small country like Monaco. I just wonder if all those ambassadors reside in Monaco, or some of them is only accredited in Monaco.:ron:
 
The US Ambassador is resident in Paris, and doubles up as ambassador to Monaco. A similar situation exists with Switzerland/Liechtenstein.
Many ambassadors are non-resident, e.g. the Ambassador of Qatar.

:) Ahhh so thaaat's how it's managed?!!! 56 is indeedy a lot!! Of course it would hardly be a hardship to reside in Monaco, but there would be need for xtra room to accommodate more if they all resided there do you suppose??? In any case from our point of vew the pics turned out beautiful against the spring floral and beautiful architectural features!

Thanx, Renata...it makes sense, Monaco is so small, but still it is impressive number. I remember reading somewhere how many embassies is in Monaco, but I don't remember the number and a source.

Another upcoming event:

On Monday, March 16, 2009, Albert will be in Istanbul, Turkey
to attend "The 5th World Water Forum" that takes place from
16 to 22 March 2009. The event is organised every three year
by the World Water Council and tries to find solutions for the
global water problems.
 
They need to do something for Monaco water it nasty to me.

:shamrock::flowers: So glad to see PA looking great. Seems like his training is paying off!! Didn't he have a friend in Turkey whom owns a restaurant he eats at over there. Looks like a great place!!
 
Albert looks slim again on those pics posted by iceflower. Wonder if his weight is always on and off or maybe one time he wears better tailored suit one time not.:ermm:;)

So it is topic related to what is discussed now in Turkey. Albert's Foundation concern is also water problem in the world. So, it must be Albert's strong interest.

There were riots outside the conference building.
