I like the outfit, but I cannot understand the brown shoes.

Oops, my original post disappeared wherein I stated I like the latest pics of Charlene, she looks really classy!

The brown shoes are part of a new fashion I have seen on young ladies that do match things up as we older ladies did.Right now the rage is not to match your handbag with shoes....... this is a break from tradition... but the shoes look they are jimmy choos.I think they break up the monotony of having say navy shoes.

I like the outfit, but am confused by the shoes..why not some navy or pale blue pumps?

CW is never going to be the big grin/smiley type like CP Maxima, which is fine imo.

She looks lovely!

Why the long hair ?

People are used to her having short hair, so why would she want to sport long hair for this occasion?

She'll have enough to worry about, methinks....

OMG, I was so shook up about Charlene's dress I totally forgot about her escort and fiance, Prince Albert. :D

Here they are in all their splendor:

I'm now full out crying I'm so overcome with emotion after seeing Charlene's exquisite/fairytale dress at William & Kate's pre-wedding dinner. I didn't expect this, at all! Now I can honestly say she is the fitting heir to continue the House of Grimaldi's beauty, fashion, elegance, charm, et al. My hat goes off to her, I curtsey to Princess Charlene of Monaco, First Lady, fashion icon. :crown6: :monacoflag: :heart1:

I was extremely disappointed with the showing of Albert and Charlene. This Paris Match article says it all. Absolute disrespect showing up late and disregarding protocol at the biggest royal wedding we'll see in our lifetime. When they could have made a grand entrance on the red carpet- they show up in utter disgrace.

Charlene's dress was also inappropriate (never wear white to a wedding) and the few photos they show are Albert pulling her along instead of posing proudly next to his future bride. Then to show Charlene stretching her neck to get a photo or two seems very desperate. She appears to be way out of her league among these higher royals. The designer is probably not to happy either as she did not make any of the big publications.

Very disappointing is all I can say about their showing at this event. They made fools of themselves showing up late and disrespecting protocol of the Queen. I hope they get someone to train her before her own wedding on style and protocol.

That's what I call a seriously beautiful dress !

A. She looked lovely. B. Disrepect for protocol, who are you, and what is protocol worth? C. This is not the wedding you can wear whatever color you like. D.Utter disgrace? Yours? or whom?

It was not the wedding itself where Charlene wore this white gown but at a pre-wedding dinner, so her choice of gown is not inappropriate.

I think she looked magnificent.

Pictures of her allegedly straining her neck to get into a picture or two, allegedly making a fool of herself for showing up late, hoping she gets training on style and protocol ... to rely on a Paris Match article that allegedly says it all ... seriously?

Charlene, you go girl.

The photo I saw of the gown it looked silver or pearl coloured, and it was stunning!

Whoever is dressing CW lately is not being paid enough...she looks great, imo.

But...why were they so late??

Sorry to say but maybe you're a little too severe towards Charlene. This is not the wedding day so she can wear white and I don't think she was desperately tryingto get pictured. She is trying hard and she seems to get accustomed to her new status, maybe we could gibe her a break !

Anyhow, back on topic, I searched & searched and finally found Albert & Charlene's arrival pics: Monaco's Prince Albert and his fiancee Charlene Wittstock ... - Yahoo! News Photos

This is actually the very first time, for me personally, that I see them as a true couple in every sense of the word ~ they're matching, well-dressed, simply exquisite ~ simpatico is the word, simpatico.

JOY, JOY, JOY!!!!

They were both winners at this latest function they appeared at, Charlene knocked it out of the park with "The Swan" gown and the classy elegant grey outfit with matching gloves and white hat, as well as her debonaire escort Prince Albert! Ah, they both represented Monaco the way Grace & Rainier did, with beauty, elegance, charm, charisma. :monacoflag: :heart1:

The future is in good hands...

Bit off topic? Fashion in a current events thread?
So what if Charlene wore white, Kate wasn't even at the event. Pippa wore white to the actual wedding. Jeez people, enjoy the wedding.

Lovely picture/video of a lovely couple!

Regarding PA and Charlene showing up late for the dinner. Did it occur to anyone that he might have informed the British ahead of time that he would be late? He is a working man afterall and may have had an earlier engagement that he couldn't get out of.

Why isn't she wearing her engagement ring, again...(..)

Actually he had car trouble and he did call to say he was going to be late. I don't recall which article I read that in, but it was within a day of the "incident". Stuff happens!

Sometimes Charlene's face reminds me of a mask. But regarding her hard sportive career I think she really tries to do her best and I am pretty sure in a couple of years she will know brilliantly the etiquette of princess and will speak French fluently.

(...)

Perhaps the wedding ring is being made to match; perhaps it is being sized (she has lost a bit of weight); perhaps she forgot to put it on...
