Prince Albert today at the presentation of the prototype
of the new hospital in Monaco:

:)nice sleek design. What will happen to the other hospital facilities? Will they be doing the same kind of work at this hopital that the other hospital was doing?:monacoflag::innocent:

I'm not sure, but what I have heard so far is that the new
hospital - that is expected to be ready in ten years from
now - should replace the Princess Grace Hospital and it's
tasks. The special things about the new hospital are
it's planned sea view and the photovoltaic sensors on
the roof.

That's good information to have, I wonder if they still have room?

:)

A more GREEN venture? This would be an excellent example of his environmental commitments.

It never even crossed my mind if Alexandre was baptized or is even Roman Catholic.

Proof

This is nice proof that Prince Albert has the care of the little boy's person, to put his best friend as whether godfather, trustee, or legal guardian etc. irrespective of religion.

First, thanks Laksmi for the news item. But I have a couple of questions.

I can't see that statement as being proof. Could it possibly be a mistranslation?

. This gentleman -what age is he? Could it be that he is Albert's godfather if he is allowed to have one?

It seems so completely shocking to say the least. Wouldn't that kind of thing, the godfather, be too much emphasis on the o/wedlock thing and the "privacy" thing Albert has fostered? As the whole Alex thing has been sort of uncercover except when it was forced out in the open--except for the forums" discussions.

As for the Catholic part, Alex's mother is Catholic. But recall that we never did hear that or where or if Alex was babptized. That at 3years of age he was denied to be done so in MC.

Olga101, You might be right, about mistranslation, but I just posted because it was kind of interesting.:ermm:
Here is another article related to Albert and Jerome:
Translated version of http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5iuD1hgWZld6u9f1LKyTos3B8PZLA
In 6th paragraph it says :De Bontin is a near Prince Albert, who is the godfather of his son .

So it is Albert who is a godfather to Jerome's son. Yep, seems more likely that they would not speak about little Alexandre on that occasion, even if Jerome was indeed his godfather. So I think Olga101 might be correct.

Albert and Jerome seem good friends. They studied in Amhest College,MA.

The article in the first post, without translation, clearly states de Bontin is the godfather:

"Les deux hommes se sont connus lors de leurs études communes aux Etats-Unis au collège d'Amherst et sont devenus si intimes que Jérôme de Bontin est le parrain du fils du souverain monégasque."

Allow me: The two men met each other during their studies in the United States at Amherst College, and became so close that Jérôme de Bontin is godfather to the Monaco sovereign's son.

Now, it is possible today for children out of wedlock to be christened by the Catholic Church. (We have 4 in the family).

OK. It might be misreading or even mistyping not mistranslation that guys in Menton article made. I posted what I posted but for me it seems odd they posted info about Alexandre on such occasion. And yes, papers make mistakes.

Albert is in Singapore now. I wonder if there'll be any pics.

It's not you, Lakshimi, the translation is horrible. :yuk:

Glistening Seas

:flowers:Different languages can sometimes translate ambigiously. whereas, it might be perfectly clear in the original language it was written---in this case French. However, when translated (hee) it loses some of it's meaning. That's one of the "fun" of different languages. Guess we will just have to wait till someone makes it clear what was meant. However, whether Mr. Benton is his godfather or not, i am sure that the christening went well!!

Prince Albert & the GP

Prince Albert will have the unenviable position of being used by Max Mosley in his quest to remain with F1: :argh:

"Max has put Prince Albert of Monaco in an embarrassing position, especially after the Crown Prince of Bahrain told him not to attend last week's Bahrain Grand Prix.

"But Monaco is Max's powerbase. It's where he lives and where the FIA have offices. He will go to Monaco and be as brazen as usual.

"Then he will go to the EGA a few days later and railroad them, saying: 'Look I went to Monaco and was able to carry on my duties as president, so what's the problem with me continuing?'

Now would be a good time for Albert to show some leadership skills and not wait to see which way the wind will blow. His Dad would have thrown the guy out of Monaco. JMO

I'm sure he will so don't fret. :)

I hope so...
Although it's hard to uproot a man whose lifestyle is not unfamiliar to many in the racing world. He really thinks he can defend this as legal, when it's not, and as a matter of his "privacy" having been invaded. This is the level of amorality that's he's reached (if he was ever born with any morals). He said himself he chose car racing as a career by misleading people who thought he was related to an automobile maker by the last name Mosley, rather than his Nazi fraternizing parents. Slippery guy!
If he goes down, he'll name names...

I'm sure he will so don't fret. :)

:)Can anyone tell us if Monaco football team is only having a bad year this year--or perhaps football is not Monaco's strong suit? Any OpInIoNs on this? let's say in the last 10 years how many football gams has Monaco won?

I'm intrigued by Pic 2... I can see it's gold, but was there maybe a caption that said what it actually represents? :flowers:

In answer to your post, firstly he has until June 3rd, 2009!!! to defend himself to F1 - other scandals will come, that will likely overshadow his "dalliances". What's more, those F1 boys are no strangers to escorts/prostitutes as I was trying to allude to before. It's only when one of them gets caught, that the outrage rings out. Mosley had the supreme bad taste to reprise the Nazi theme of his forebearers, but he'd be sooner charged and booted had he used the "company" credit card, or misappropriated company funds than be caught in the act that is so tacky people will soon want to forget. He will claim a set-up, and by the use of a videocamera that tracked him from outdoors to indoors, this was done by someone who knew his habits. Had the surveillance been done by the authorities, it would be a slam dunk. But who filmed him? And to get him back for what? For letting someone hang over the spying scandal maybe? Those boys play to win. When he's made good by whoever he crossed, the newspaper will claim a hoax and it will die down. Has he been formally charged by the British authorities? No. The damage is contained to his reputation in F1. This was retaliation.

Not that I defend his actions, but to prove a point that he still has a measure of control over the outcome. Call me the  's advocate on this one. :yuk:

(Sorry GT, I tried to multi-quote our posts, but maybe you'll do that)

Are you sure?

That would explain why Albert is keeping quiet.

What is this all referring to, please?

Well, Hibou, industrial wars can cause a lot of collateral damage. I could only surmise that PA would want to handle this one at a great distance. This might very well be the GP where he lets another royal handle the P.R.
I would.

I agree, and this is where I think Albert is pretty shrewd, although some may view it as being a bit lacking in skills on his part.

Thanks for providing some insight into the F1 politics.

It's an Peranakan artifact at the Peranakan Museum in Singapore.
'Peranakan' refers to descendants of early Chinese immigrants to
Malaysia and Indonesia who have partially adopted Malay customs
in an effort to be assimilated into the local communities - well, I've
read that, I did not know it ;)
