Yeah! My rommate, Marianne, says that the French baccalaureate examinations are going on right now, and they started yesterday too, because we have to use their same scedule and examinations at our school here too. And they last for weeks too! And I really hope that she does okay too, because Marianne says that they are very, very difficult too! And good luck too!

I also read this, in a Yahoo!group, also a friend of mine from France said this was in some magazine and he also claimed it was a rumour caused by journalist (gossip-press???) so, I wouldn't take it too serious, but if it is true I just wish her all the luck and it would also mean she is ,like, extremely intelligent, knowing from experience with my brother it is SO hard to get into college there, so all the luck to ms. Charlotte whatever the future may hold for her

Actually, in some place (which must be the case here) it happens when the girl turns 18.

It is traditionally a ball where a girl gets presented to society for the first time. It signifies her entering womanhood and entering society. That's my grasp of it from the debuts I've attended. It's usually done with the high society. There are debutant balls in places like New York, Paris, Newport Beach, Washington DC, and in many parts of Europe, I believe.

Yeah i heard about that...who do you think will be attending??? It's going to be all formal and upper-class isn't it??? What a pity for an 18th birthday party...but then again maybe they like to do the waltz and drink champagne on their birthday ^___^

You know in regular debutante balls they have escorts and there is an interesting fact that most debs end up marrying their escorts, I wonder if Charlotte will have a boy accompany her for the gala and if so who?!

The villa I believe belongs to Caroline's friend, designer Karl Lagerfeld and her party will be a private one unlike her friend Valentine who was a Crillon debutante. I suppose Valentine will be on the guest list! Do you think Athina Roussell would be invited?
