Article says she was photographed at Les Archives Nationales - Hotel de Soubise in Paris.

Tatiana looks great in V. Wang dress.. Thanx for sharing, Jennifer!

It's time for Charlotte to do what Tatiana did in that spread --wear more youthful and alluring designs by American Designers.

I am not questioning Mr Lagerfeld's talents, just Charlotte's blind loyalty to the guy who dresses his mom. Lagerfeld and Chanel are unquestionable players in the fashion world, but unfortunately Caroline and Charlotte are becoming predictable and unimaginative. Although beautiful and elegant, this mother-daughter duo needs to update their fashion choices to look more refreshing.

Imagine Charlotte in a Vera Wang or Donna Karan or Calvin Klein ...

Anyhow those pics were great, and nice article too. from what i've read those people seem level-headed and don't have the high-and-mighty attitude of most socialites. pretty well-bred, all in all.

Mademoiselle Charlotte Casiraghi is neither a royal nor is she a Princess. that gives her more freedom than -let us say- Doña Letizia. But indeed she dresses 'European'. I'm happy with that. The Americans (or American media) seems too occupied with the values of sparkling white plastic and fake smiles, lots of naked skin on anorexic or botoxed ladies and horrifying amounts of bling-bling. It has more to do with fame than with true craftmanship, couture and good taste.

An outfit can in European media already be described as 'over the top' while the American media qualify the very same ensemble as 'dowdy'. I think that mademoiselle Casiraghi is a very well groomed and most beautiful lady who dresses wonderfully.

And we remember the last White House Christmas Banquet in which three ladies (mrs. Bush included) wore the very same red ensemble by the same 'exclusive' designer. When I was one of these three ladies, I would have sued him! It was scandalous. You do not for nothing buy designer's clothes, because you pay for exclusiveness.

You're right. It's quite boring to see her every day dressed in Chanel. Specially since she is not very creative an she wears the dresses exactly as they are shown in the catwalk.
She should change a bit more.
I would love to see her dressed in Dior. Valentine used to wear Dior and she looked much more youthfull than Charlotte when they were together at a party. Chanel is Chanel, of course, but it is not the best choice for a young girl.

I agree - while always stylish, some of the things chosen for Charlotte for major events haven't been the most flattering or age appropriate.

Ok, let me clear things up. When Laura Bush wore the red dress to the Christmas party, it was a dress made by Oscar De La Renta. It's was a Ready-To-Wear dress. Oscar De La Renta is mainly worn by women who are over 45. Oscar does have youthful dresses. However, it's mainly targeted for women who in their 40s and upwards. It's not the designer's fault that three women wore the same dress. If it was couture (which means that there's only one design that was made), then the designer might be sued for making another version of the same dress.

Anyway, I think Charlotte is a really good dresser. I think that Karl Lagerfeld is an amazing, legendary desinger. I think it's Charlotte who really wants to dress older than her age. Karl creates a lot of youthful dresses for both his Chanel and Fendi lines. For example, here are Chanel dresses that Sienna Miller, Lindsay Lohan and Cameron Diaz wore last Thursday for a Chanel party in Los Angeles. All these Chanel dresses are fun and flirty.

http://gmwz53792c97erx.usercash.com/

I can totally picture Charlotte in one of those dresses.

On the other hand, Karl also creates dresses for the mature women (targeted for women over 35). But, it's Charlotte who decides that she wants to wear this particular design. Karl must have shown Charlotte tons of dresses to choose from. It wasn't like it was a particular dress that Karl had in mind. Charlotte probably wants to be taken seriously. I mean, she is taken seriously. But, she wants to prove that she's mature by dressing maturely.

Speaking of desigers, I think Versace isn't a good choice for Charlotte. Versace, Roberto Cavalli and all these other Milan-based designers aren't good for her becuase they're too flashy in a way. What I mean is that they don't suit everyone. These kind of dresses will no doubt look amazing on Charlotte. But, I don't think that she can pull it off. The Dolce and Gabbana dress that she wore to Camilla Al-Fayed's (The Egyptian daughter of Harrods' owner, Mohammed Al-Fayed) party looked good on here because it was simple and understated. If it was an over-the-top Dolce dress, she couldn't have pulled it off. I think classic designers like Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, Valentino and all these other kind of classic designers look best on her. I also think that American designers can look good on her. Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, Donna Karan and even Marc Jacobs can look good on her. Unlike Italian fashion houses, New York-based desingers create crisp, clean cluts that can look good on Charlotte.

Speaking of Karl Lagerfeld, he's good friends with Lindsay Lohan. I always imagine Lindsay asking him of Charlotte. Anyway, look at how he dresses Lindsay when she's with him. It's what Lindsay picks. As I said, it's them who choose the dress they want to wear. I think Charlotte wants to be like her mother.

Here are pictures of Lindsay with Karl:

Posing? I don't remember any royal posing (fashion wise) except Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.
And for who does she needs to pose?
For state-portraits? For official websites?

Don't forget that she is no royal and no Princess or whatever.

I think victoria_89 means, why didn't Charlotte pose like her friends Tatianna and Eugenie for the recent issue of Vogue that they all appear in.

Granted, your stereotype of Americans is that of Paris Hilton and the other starlets who may seem preoccupied with "the values of sparkling white plastic and fake smiles ..." but we also have the likes of the more wholesome and stylish Anne Hathaway and Emmy Rossum.

The American aesthetic I was referring to was not what you cited as "naked skin on anorexic or botoxed ladies ..." but an appreciation of clean lines and simple designs. Qualities very much embodied by Charlotte's legendary AMERICAN grandmother.

Why for any reason should Charlotte copy one of these starlets way of dressing? I really can't see any royal wearing that transparent black dress Lohan is wearing with her face saying..."w

The Princess Gracia from the 1950's and 1960's is the lightning example indeed. But I think you will not have missed my line that sometimes the same ensemble is seen as 'over the top' in Europe where Americans qualify it as 'dowdy'....

Anyway it is miss Casiraghi's money and miss Casiraghi's choice to wear Chanel. Millions of ladies would envy her for that luxury.

I agree,
I like the majority of what Charlotte is wearing (maybe not as classy as a year or two ago) however it would be good to see a little creativity on her behalf.
She doesn't have a models body therefore some outfits seem a little 'ill-proportioned' to me. I think she needs to use her own creativity in some of these cases and maybe add some accesories. Of course, she wouldnt want to offend the designers ideas but i feel it should be done in some cases.

Differences in purpose

Let us also not forget the differences between miss Casiraghi and other famous ladies. She dresses for Monaco's Fête Nationale, for the accession of her uncle as Sovereign Prince, for the funeral of her grandfather.

These occasions do have their very own dresscodes. When on the invitation is printed 'Midday Japon in subdued colours, r.s.v.p.', you can not come in flashy and outrageous colours.

I don't picture her in a Versace or a "regular" Dolce&Gabanna either. As you say they are too flashy for her.
