Be afraid be very afraid. I wonder he picks women with the bodies of men (no shape) or in this case she could sing diana ross song " I got muscles" thats her theme song. I find it gross  but PA likes want he likes:eek:

Poor Charlene. Do we really have to be so critical of her? She does not dress so much differently than the Trio and PS, in my opinion. I mean a lot of us really wish we were in her position, maybe not with PA, but most of us would like to be the heroine of a "rags-to-riches" story of our own. If she dressed in Chanel, etc., everyone would say that she was sponging off of PA. No matter what she does, or how she dresses, she probably won't be able to win for a long time. I feel bad for her in that respect no matter what.

No way Prince Albert is going to send his assistant to help any woman pick out an engagement ring. He proabably set his assistant with her to the grocery store to get a pack a smokes just to make sure she didn't talk to the press or light up in public. (Nothing agianst smokers, I smoked for ten years. There are exactly ZERO pictures of me with a cigarette in my hand. None. It's tacky and low class)

I have yet to read any credible reports on an egagement. Nothing. No real sources and the clock is ticking. I doubt seriously anyone is going to throw a mega wedding and give the guests less than four months notice. (October?)

Also, I find the whole set of pictures from that last set, where they are at some formal diner, very telling. They both look uncomfortable to say the least. I also read a first hand report from someone who was there that evening who said Albert looked distant. (This would be his opinion and it could be complete gossip, but, the pictures seem to indicate he's on the money)

IMO it is possible that Albert puts a woman next to him just sort of to see how she will handle the spot light...just a theory but it's sort of like living together. Some people want to know if their partner leaves the cap off the tooth paste before they take the plunge. I would image Albert probably needs to see how a woman is going to react or act with the spotlight on her.

:D I can't stop laughing Leahteresa!!:D :D
Someone, I think Paca, said that by Cartier, there is a short -cut to a restaurant--maybe they were a group meeting for dinner. There is no actual picture of the Charlene entourage actually entering or exiting Cartier that I have seen yet...

I must say I pretty much agree with you, Julianneneville. Can Charlene do anything good? I mean, she has done no harm, did she? She is just in love (yes, I think so and while I don't get prooves of the opposite, I will think so) with the Prince of Monaco and they may be planning to marry. What's the deal? as for her, not being Princess material, I would really love to know the ingredients, that make the Princess. Strickly speaking, almost none of the current Crown Princesses (and a few Queens as well) were not made of the "Princess material" but they do manage to do their job, don't they? So why not give Charlene a chance, if Prince Albert does indeed intend to marry her?:)

I am coming in fairly late to the Charlene Wittstock thread..but from what I have read...she doesn't appear to be well liked..and I have to wonder why? Yes, she is young and under educated at least by Crown Princess standards of today (thinking Letitiza, Mary, Mathilde, Maxima, etc.) but if Albert (and Monac) likes her what is the big deal? I know people hate comparisons..but this is starting to remind me of the Mary/Letizia issues.

Actually Cartier is on the way from Alberts appartment in the carre d'or to the Louis XVI restaurant (run by Ducasse and joining the Hotel de Paris opposite the casino). I did not see any pics of them going in or coming out of the shop. Just a group of people meeting in front, which was, if you wanted to go to the Louis XVI from that side, the only place to meet up. Everywhere else was blocked off for the GP and I doubt that they would have wanted to meet in the middle of the road in front.;) Besides, the way people were dressed is even for Monaco standards unusual for a trip to Cartier.

Oh, don't forget she doesn't seem to have a job either...:D

But yes, other than those things I guess she's ok.

Charlene opened herself up to any critcism she gets. She did give an interview, she is shacking up with a public figure. That's just how it goes. If she has decided to read the Royal forums and stay awake at night, that's sort of her problem IMO. She has made some bad choices, does that make her a bad person? No, not at all. I have not a clue what kind of person she is. I think I became put out with her comments about education, and the further knowledge that she really has none. The olympics is okay but it's really about self glorification.....it's fine but "don't quit your day job". She came across as shallow and I really do not know why anyone would want to read her interview, or find out anything about her unamazing life. The only think she's done is Albert....

Well, if you think about it, participating in the olympics is pretty amazing, right? I mean, how many people have actually made it there?:D

And that she did it without having completed any formal schooling is an accomplishment, right? Most athletes, even the junior ones need to have finished school at least, just to be seriously considered. I mean, if it is super competitive to get on the SA swim team then that says alot. And even if not, she can still count it as an accomplishment, she would have had to have some discipline and focus to do it, right?:p

Of course, I personally would have recommend her to have some kind of education completed as a 'just-in-case':p :), rather than leaving it open to so much uncertainty and a case for other peoples' good graces, especially if she does not medal again or make something smart of her contact with PA.

But maybe swimming is all she cares about.

Swimming seems to be her passion. Obviously she's a gifted swimmer, right?:) :p

She gave an interview? So what. She is not the first, nor will she be the last. She probably didn't think that the relationship would last this long. The Olympics for self gratification....now thats a first. Yes..there are probably athletes who do it for self gratification, current and future endorsements...but there are just as many who see just GOING to the Olympics as a win. As for her comments regarding education...its just as Lillia stated..swimming is her passion...and she had no room for anything else. Is that for everyone? No not at all but its good enough for Charlene.

I really hope Albert settles down soon...at this point Charlene Wittstock seems too good to be true!!

Just curious...are they living together? Has she moved to Monaco? :)

Indeed. And after all, participating on olympic level in whatever sport is much more difficult to accomplish than finishing school. Why? Because if anything, statistically speaking, billions more people have achieved a high school diploma, whereas only a rarefied few thousands of people have been allowed to participate in the olympics.

My point is: sure it takes perseverance to jump through the myriad of hoops we call 'education'. But in the end, ANYONE with a median brain can do school. That's how they were designed, with us humans as the target market. But it takes much more perseverance to participate in a sport AND actually make it to the olympics. Perseverance AND talent go hand in hand there. In that sense, Charlene is more accomplished than all current crown princesses of Europe together.

I think we must accept the fact that Albert does not fit the classic profile
of "Prince Charming." It may actually do more harm than good to your reputation to marry this Prince.
A very interesting observation.

Yes, Yes, it takes drive to become a great swimmer and to make it to the olympics. I for one have never tired out so I have no idea what the competition is like. That aside, it is still a shallow and short lived ambition. It is not like being a teacher, or a doctor. That is my point. And I'"m standing by it.

I did just see on Entertainment Tonight that they are reporting she was shopping for a ring with his aid (not smokes as I had suggessed earlier). I do not think Entertainment Tonight is a super reliable source, but they probably check their gossip better than some others. It was only a 10 second clip.

I agree with you, Lillia. And given Prince Albert's passion for sport and for the Olympics, I'm sure in his mind that makes Charlene quite admirable and worthy. And it gives them something in common.

Monaco's Prince Albert doesn't see himself staying a single forever

Paris - the Monegasque Prince Albert II. (48) cannot imagine “being alone for too long”. I'm going to have a family, affirmed the bachelor and father of two illegitimate children to the Paris weekly magazine “Le Point”.

The prince replied evasively to the question, whether the South African swimmer Charlene Wittstock, with whom he showed up publicly in Monaco, could be the chosen one. If he had serious intentions, “then you would know that surely”, he answered on the verge of the first anniversary of his enthronement.

Albert also pointed out the close relationship with his sisters Caroline and Stéphanie: “They help me very much. We usually phone several times a week.”

I agree! I really want there to be an enagagement and wedding in Monaco!

I would not marry him even if he was the only man left on earth. Good for her!! After the two children, I have very little respect for him. He was framed by the women. They all want him for his money...please!!! It takes two to make babies!!

I keep reading about the engagement ring shopping photos... Are there more photos showing her near Cartier????????? The last ones were taken three weeks ago. Also, I thought Repossi (a Monegasque jeweler) was the favorite of Albert and his family??? I would have thought he would have had M. Repossi come to the palace to have Charlene pick something out...give them more privacy and not keep feeding the rumor mills.

Maybe CW was just shopping for some jewelry? Who knows? Albert's answers to the questions seem awefully vague and he appears to be putting his sisters up as the ladies of Monaco, which I think is appropriate.

Monaco's Prince Albert to marry long-term girlfriend: Rumour

http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/royal_family/Royal+News+Monaco+s+Prince+Albert+to+marry+long+term+girlfriend-19262.html

Hello's website also has an article about this, what does everyone think? I hope it's true, it's about time this man got hitched! :)

I hope they are getting married. In my opinion that is why he cleared up the situation with the children. Can you imagine what would have happened if he didn't already come out about the kids? He would announce the wedding & the baby mommas would start making a fuss & taking the limelight away from the bride. Now with the child announcements made, he just has to wait for the dust to settle & then announce the wedding. That's the same reason I don't think the kids will be at the wedding-it will take attention from the bride. Oh well, to get back on topic, I look forward to a wedding announcement. I know a lot of people aren't crazy about CW but I like her.
