It´s strange that no pictures from tati´s father funeral has appeared...

^ I think that's a good thing. The paps should respect Tatiana's family during this time.

They probably went somewhere to recover. Paprazzo don't respect ANYTHING.

We can look forward to Grand Prix in 3 weeks, right?

Well, I certainly miss seeing him/them, so I hope they've had enough time to grieve, and can move on with their lives - which might include the Grand Prix events. It would be nice to see them getting back into the swing of things.

this is such sad news. it seems that tatiana was very accepted by the monegasque family, i'm sure they are involved in all the aftermath now and are taking care of her. did caroline attend tatiana's father funeral?

yes i think so
i read somewhere that Charlotte, Alex, Caroline and Ernst went to the funeral

Hi. I'm new at the forums, and it's so sad to read about Tatiana's dad passing away.
I've been looking for some more information and I found and article in a colombian magazine. Hope it helps.
Here is the link, I hope it works:

:previous: Thanks for the link Nathalie Cox!:flowers:It works perfectly well.
Poor Tatiana!

Now we know for sure that also Caroline and Charlotte were there. I guess that Ernst did not attend because of his broken leg.

Paparazi do everything to earn some money, but this is so exaggerated.. We have to respect some things and this particular moment we have to leave them alone. It is a funeral! Not a wedding or an event!

:previous:I agree with you Azure, but this is not the first time (and not the last) that paparazzi take pics of famous people attending a funeral. They never care about the event, they just want to take pics of celebrities.

thank you nathalie cox!!!!
yes, Ernst didn´t attend beacause of his leg
but what about Pierre and Bea?

Your welcome guys! I suppose Ernst didn't attend because of his leg as pdc said, but I have no idea about Pierre and Beatrice. I thought they were going to go too. And yes, paparazzi don't respect ANYTHING -.-

I suppose the paps can't be avoided, especially with that impressive crowd.

I have to say, though, that photo of Tatiana has to be the best one I've seen of her.

I like Andrea and Tatiana. They would be lovely first couple, better than his uncle and Charlene. I hope she feel a little better now.

Prince Rainier seemed to have invested alot of hopes in Andrea for the future. However, fun as it might be, his romances and 'whims and fancies' don't really concern me as much as does how committed any of the younger generation are to the continued sovereignty and independence of Monaco.

I would really like Andrea to become Sovereing Prince one day, but he just doesn't seem too commited to the Principality activities, he does only with AMADE. I think I haven't seen him in Red Cross Gala, or any other event but the Rose Ball:ermm:

Exactly, and it seems about the same with all of his generation. I don't think they're doing anything wrong and I don't criticize them, I like them all fine. I'm just a little concerned that with the economic changes, the new agreements with France, the Euro currency and the accumulation of lots of little things like that the dinstinctness and sovereignty of Monaco might be chipped away at. Rainier III did alot more than I think he gets credit for in that regard and marrying Princess Grace was a masterstroke that really helped the political, economic and social life of the country. I'm just a little concerned as to whether or not the younger generation of Grimaldis have the same level of committment that their grandfather did.

I read a little about history of Monaco and I think we can't compare younger generation of Grimaldi with his grandfather. Rainer III, when became Sovereing Prince, hadn't easy life. Financial, political and economic problems worried him for long time. Until he married Grace Kelly and Monte Carlo became famous becouse of casinos, country was rather not interesting for people. Now is quite different, Albert hasn't such troubles and condition of Monaco is better than ever. I don't suppose young Grimaldis must fight with such serious problem like their grandfather.

It's not so difficult to rule the country when everything is alright. Difficult is when country need great changes and strong Sovereing Prince.

I see your point, grace marie, and you are right. But I think that it would be good if Andrea would worry a little more about the Principality things...on the other hand he's too young to worry about things that probably a 24 year old guy doesn't even care. Anyway, he's not officially the Hereditary Prince so it's ok:flowers:

In my opinion the main problem, aside from Andrea's willingness to be involved that I can't judge, is the ambiguity of his position. He is not the hereditary prince, so if he got too involved in public affairs people would assume Albert doesn't want to get married and have kids and I'm not sure this is the image Albert wants to project...so the Casiraghi have to be there without being there too much. I might be wrong but I think that behind closed doors they are prepared for what might come, and the fact that Andrea studies International Politics is probably an indication.

ETA: in my avatar (for which I can't take credit cause I got it from a thread of this forum) Stefano with little Andrea.

I hope you're right, Grace. Is that man on your avatar is Stefano Casiraghi? Great photo.

Every generation has problems, different, but no less serious than others, and I am not trying to compare Andrea with his grandfather, I'm just wondering if there is the same depth of a sense of duty in the new generation as in the old. When Rainier was looking for a good wife it was with the threat of the loss of Monegasque independence hanging over his head if he could not produce a legitimate male heir. I also suspect (without the slightest evidence I will admit) that I don't think the effect of marrying a celebrity like Grace Kelly was lost on the Prince. I have also seen several articles over the last few years suggesting that as Europe integrates more and more Monegasque independence could become more and more theoretical until it is gone entirely and usually the want of a committed (Rainier) and dynamic (Grace) Princely leadership is cited as why. I'm not making any judgements on anyone, I don't know enough of them to even try, i'm just expressing some concerns that I know others have had as well. I mention Andrea becuase I read before that when the succession laws were changed Rainier had in mind then that Andrea would be Sovereign Prince of Monaco one day which seemed to suggest to me that he had placed his hopes for the future in the boy.

:flowers: while Ranier may have changed his will; Ranier groomed PA for the job of Prince whom although PA makes it appear like he's footloose and fancy free ---he really is someone would will not be easy to replace if only in the experience dept, however, in all depts as well. However, Stephanie and Caroline do a lot to add glitz and glitter with PA to everything they are involved in so it would be wrong to assume that PA would ever lose his desire to keep Monaco going strong.

I think they have it covered.:flowers: Andrea is just living and enjoying his own life as he can now. When he is older he may be happy to have more to aspire to--I'm sure he takes pride in his place in the family and it's history. I think everyone needs to have a sense of self, and that is probably what he's trying to do now--just like anyone else that age.:flowers:

I might be over-paranoid, it's entirely possible. Just to clarify though, I did not mean to imply any lack of faith in the abilities of Albert II by Rainier III (or myself). I think he was well prepared for the job, that is to say the business 'nuts & bolts' stuff of running the country, but like any monarch Rainier III was concerned with the future and the family line and I think by looking to Andrea he wasn't showing any doubts in Albert's ability to rule but simply doubts in his willingness to marry and have legitimate heirs. I think it was done around the time Rainier himself had married which might have had something to do with it. I'm certainly all for Andrea enjoying the time he has now, but he should also be aware that he's not exactly the same as everyone else and be a tad more involved. He might find himself thrust to the forefrunt sooner than he thinks. I'm sure Albert has many, many more years ahead of him, but there might be (God forbid) little to no time after him as Caroline is older and probably not in as good health as Albert so I would expect that he could out-live Caroline or else she might "go" not too long after him at which point the proverbial monkey will be on Andrea's back, ready or not.

We don't know about a real situation becouse we can't be sure what is going on in Grimaldi palace but I think that Andrea is aware of his possibly future role. I read the article that he's very interested in AMADE work and he likes to do it. I've never heard Charlotte or Pierre was interested in charity. In newspapers we usually see what Andrea do in free time and I didn't heard about any Andrea interview so we don't know what he really think about it.

But I'm optimistic, I've always had better opinion about Andrea than his uncle. It was said that Albert will be hopeless Prince but that wasn't true.

I wonder what would happen if Albert married Charlene and they had children. If Albert die, his son or daughter will be for example 20 years old. If he/ she could rule the country then? Maybe Albert is happy that he has Andrea as a newphew and he needn't to worry about own children.

This what makes me think that Andrea will be the Prince someday. And the work with AMADE, the charity...
