Mette-Marit is absolutely beautiful. There's a naturalness to her that I find lacking, at least sometimes, in every other CPss but which she never loses. She's lovely.

Please stop pretending like fashion is all that matters about Royalty! It´s nothing more than an addition, some sort of "support" - and that´s that.

The Cpss is not a person who cares too much about it and thinks about this matter all day long (unlike some posters here...).
I really like the fact that her husband, children and "job" come first - fashion never was and never will be on the top of her priority list.
That doesn´t mean I don´t like her wardrobe; it´s full of taste and style.
(We will luchily never see her wearing some sort of pink ugly turban the Pss of the Netherlands wore in Turkey, for example). MMs style is modest and destinctive - and that´s the way it should be!

Of course Mette Marit cares about what she is wearing:)

I don't quite agree - I highly respect Mette-Marit's achievements, personality and priorities. But I believe she has chosen a job in the public eye which means she should dress well. Doesn't have to be a turban or anything that's ultra-chic. But she's a public figure so at least she should look as if she bothers. Being well-dressed at a public event when you're the speaker or "main attraction" means you respect your audience. That's, I think, what she should signal.

Mette-Marit christening Fram

On Saturday Mette-Marit will be Godmother of Hurtigrutens new explorership Fram (which is also what King Haralds sailboats are called) Hurtigruten is very famous in NOrway and arranges beautiful cruises along the coast from Bergen and to the North. This new ship will also go to Greenland and is specialising on Polar cruises. Hurtigruten is arranging a huge event with some of Norways most famous artists at the Akershus dock to mark the christening May 19 13.00

the hair is a mess:ermm:

It looked like it was very windy, so that answers the question to the hair though once in the boat it looked good, dont you think?I liked her coat, very well tailored, its a recycled. A hat or hair piece wouldve looked great but the wind isnt too friendly :)

What is she supposed to do when it's that windy? Any hat she would have worn would have blown off her head and her hair would have looked like that anyway. You can't control the weather.

she could have done what she did back in 2004 when visitng another windy spot

Overall a little more effort on the presentation would not be to bad, Sonja always looks well groomed on every engagement, so should she.

Afterall, alot of people came to the christening, this was no low profile conference

And how do we know the wind wouldn't have destroyed her hairstyle, had she chosen to wear it up? Was it more or less windy that day than during that event in 2004? No one knows. She's human, the wind mussed her hair. I'm sure no one there cared that Mette-Marit's hair got whipped around because I'm willing to bet they were dealing with the same issues if they were standing there watching her.

Actually I think it looked funny. I don't think the audience complained!

I don't think you can actually say something about her hair. Yes it was a windy day, and yes she could've had her hair in a ponytail or something, but MM is just a regular person like all of us. She's not perfect and she's not supposed to be either. Anyway I think she looks great.

I like that Haakon and Mette-Marit often go to seminars. They also often go to high schools. I know Mette-Marit gave a speech about AIDS and how to prevent it at one Norwegian high school.

Mette looked fantastic! Her hair looks so beautiful and this white outfit suits her alot! So, maybe she finally got the message that bright and light colours look 100 times better on her then black or dark blue!
Mette looks very summery and refreshing! :flowers:

Yes, She's often holding Speeches like this and I admire her for that! This topic seems to be very important for the Crown Princess!

Thanks Fanletizia for the pictures! Mette-Marit does look great! She looks really nice, classy and youthfull.

she does look great. i love her in soft colours...

Mette-Marit does look very good, white suits het very much. :)

I like the fact Mette-Marit tries to interact with young people and make them aware of the problems/issues of the present.

Mette looks great! :flowers: White really suits her...if only she would do something with her hair :bang:

Well, I think she did something with her hair... it seems she re-coloured it again. It looks more blonde then before, doesn't it?
that's my impression... maybe it just looks like this because the shining sun makes it look brighter..
I just love her shiny and beautiful hair! :flowers:

She looks great! It's very different from her normal look and she pulls it off.
indeed, the skirt fits, the jacket fits, the accessories match, the hair looks nice, very different indeed;)

I dont think this is very new look for her, she has been wearing theese belted suits quite some times lately. IMo the whole outfit looks like something Letizia would wear, a patterned skirt with a strickt jacket and a belt to try and make it less "business"

Its strange there is not one pic from the dance performance with immigrant women that was added to her calendar on wednedsday evening, not even in the local paper, well maybe all the press was busy taking glorious victorious soccer pictures at ullevål:lol: They dont come to often:neutral:

oh my gosh she looks perfect. love the white outfit, age appropriate (i think alot of stuff she wears looks like its too "old" for her -frumy if you will) love the skirt, i mean i really love that skirt where can i get one (i hate to shop so i love the born shoppers inspirations) this princess has the most beautiful thick hair (i don't care what color it is ;) she looks absolutely radiant thanks for the photos and links.
it is strange what the press chooses to highlight or follow larzen, that seems a very positive and happy event i would have enjoyed the photos.

She did it! She finally paired a fitted jacket with a skirt and everything looks good. Normally when I see her wear a jacket and belt together, it's either too tight or too baggy, but this one was a home run. She looked great, and white looks good on her. Nice one, Mette. :flowers:

I love the outfit. It fits her well. I'm so glad she didn't wear black

She looks so good in white! Great going MM.
