CP Haakon looks cranky. Is he always like this
- after a royal visit ?
- in the morning ?
- before going on a bike ride ?
- when he hasn't foiled the paparazzi yet again ? :(

I'd be "cranky" too if everytime they are out of their home, the paps are "right there" to pounce on them. I hope it will die down soon to give them a chance to be "a family" ~ however, on the other side of the coin, I'm enamered by this couple and I like keeping up with them. (I guess I'm a hipocrit!) There's something really "special " about them. I think it's because they show their affection for one another nearly every time they are photographed. He looks as though he really wants to protect her. It doesn't look like they are able "to pry themselves apart" ~ something Diana and Charles certainly did not share.

I'd be cranky too if the phographers were following my every step and all I wanted to do was to go for a bike ride with my family. I don't blame Haakon for being cranky. How annoying it would be to be in his position.

I think you're very right Rachel72550@aol.com about Haakon being so protective of Mette-Marit and Marius. He always seems to want to shield her from the press, espescially since she had such a difficult time adjusting to life in the public eye. I've always felt that Mette-Marit was one who loved the man more than she loved the title and the cushy life and that as much as she has gotten great perks as the CP of Norway, she would give it all up if she could still have Haakon. And vice versa, espescially if those stories are true that Haakon would've renounced his rights to the throne if it he would not be allowed to marry Mette-Marit otherwise.

I've always felt that too. When you look at photos of Haakon and Mette-Marit, their affection for each other is just undeniable. I'm not saying the other royal couples aren't in love with each other, but certainly they seem less inclined to show it than these two.

Slightly off-topic, but I have a good feeling about Felipe and Letizia too. Then again, those two should be in the "honeymoon" stage of their relationship, so...

i love the pics of the crown prince and crown princess with her son they like a very happy family god bless them..... :flower: :flower: :flower:

nice pictures!

I am delighted to see new pictures of the royals!
They look very happy.
Princess Mette-Marit looks good in her pictures.
I hope that she would have a safe delivery. ;)

Life ... as they said ... is a bundle of ups and downs.

I'd say a baptism is better as (and was) an up,
and oops, the T visit gets the receiving end of the sh_ tty stick (the down).

i look her pictures its new tiara

Ingrid-Alexandra is getting very beautiful. However, I have noticed that Haakon and M-M aren't big on hats or bonnets to protect her skin. Most parents put a small bonnet on their baby when they're in hot, sunny places.

Mette-Marit and Haakon will be attending the wedding in Jordan. According to VG Ingrid Alexandra will be travelling with them.

Thanks for the picture Carlota :flower: I see they also spent sometime aboard the Norge.

Thank you. And here I thought it might be fodder for the tabloids about problems in Ari and Martha Louise's marriage. ;)

Today there is an interview with Mette-Marit and Haakon in the Danish magazine Billed Bladet. They talk about how they try to moderzine the monarchy by sharing traditional female duties as visiting kindergardens etc., and they talk about how much they like living at Skaugum. There are some pictures of the couple at Skaugum as well.

For you, it most probably is old news, maybe a Danish translation of a Norwegan interview, but if there is any interest, I can make a scan?

Oslo, Sunday 22.08.2004 Haakon and Mette-Marit celebrated their third anniversary by inviting friends and family for a private service at the Royal Chapel. For the third year in a row, Crown Prince Haakon (31) and Crown Princess Mette-Marit (31) celebrated their anniversary by inviting friends and family for a private service at the Royal Chapel. The anniversary celebration started at 18.00 Sunday evening. Mette-Marits family was represented by her mother, stephfather, and three of her brothers and sisters. Espen H iby arrived at the service without his girlfriend Renate Jonasse. But they left the Castle together a few hours later, holding hands. According to Se og H r, the King and Queen were also present. In addition to family members, several of the couples friends were present - and many of these brought their children.

I can't believe I forgot!!!

Oh, that's right! Their anniversary is today, isn't it??

Can anybody tell us how long they've been married now?
***********************************

Oh, my! I can't believe "that anniversary" got away from me! Happy 3-Year Marriage, Haakon and Mette-Marit!! Their anniversary is the only one I've remembered all these years ~ I must have been really pre-occupied that day for me to forget.

Their wedding was a tear - jerker for me ~ with all they had to go through to get to the alter ... and, the best thing about it was the point that Haakon wasn't to be moved away from the idea of marrying the woman he loved ... and, his love has been returned 1000 fold by one of the sweetest women I've gotten to know on the "royal boards". Continue with your happy life and my God bless you both and Ingrid and Marius.

Haakon and Mette-Marit at the Kvalvaag Wedding

13 SEPTEMBER 2004

Norway's Crown Prince Haakon and his wife Mette-Marit made for a striking couple when they attended a friend's wedding at the weekend. The princess turned heads in a floor-length white coat with beige trim, while her husband was looking equally impressive in his country's traditional dress.

The royal couple were among the guests at the nuptials of Haakon's old friend Hans Olav Kvalvaag and his bride Camelia Smith. And romance was clearly in the air, as the pair were spotted holding hands and embracing on more than one occasion.

After the ceremony, the guests were escorted to an old sailing ship which ferried them to a lavish reception in the town of Hvalstand Bad. Ever the gentleman, Haakon removed his jacket and wrapped it around his pretty wife's shoulders to protect her from the chilly weather.

I know we do discuss Mette-Marit's outfits quite a lot... but there's just something about Haakon's in the last pictures. I wish he would wear bunad more often. Of course he has to be impartial, but still.

Guys in Norwegian National Costumes are... well, hot, in my opinion.

Mette-Marit should have worn her costume as well, though they wouldn't have matched.

Yes, Haakon looks great in a bunad. Why don't we start a thread on Norwegian Royals wearing bunads. What do you think norwegianne? In the main forum so that we could include everyone?

Nice article about the Crown Prince and Princess in this week´s issue of Hello Magazine. Of course there are the usual grand photos as well.

Did Mette-Marit cut her hair? It looks much shorter to me.

Maybe it's the way it's curled and styled....

Thank you for posting the pictures

Yes she has cut it, but why oh why did she not colour her roots when she was at the hairdresser in the first place?:( And I see as soon as she left Thailand she left all colour behind and went for grey and a black turtle neck...

She does look quite lovely with shorter hair. More coiffed. Except for the roots. I agree she should have colored them.

Maybe she's returning to her natural hair color?

I really like her shorter hair. In one of the pictures, she reminded me a little bit of Mathilde.

I think that she is one of those women who just get prettier with age.

I absolutely love MM's new hairdo. I agree though she should color the roots.
