Its nice she brought Amalia and Ariane, but why not Alexia? Anyone know?
 
this is so cute....amalia seems to have the makings of a queen already...i was never a fan of the triple A but with this one...I'm in love with Amalia
 
A very simple reason for Princess Alexia being absent, may be that it's
been easier for Queen Beatrix to have two children with her only, one
girl left and one girl right, that's much easier to handle than three..
After all the Queen has been there for an official reason so she had to
be free of stress ;)

Or maybe she didn't feel like going anywhere like kids often do,or maybe she had a birthday party of a friend to go to.
Nothing to do with HM being able to handle any situation or not.

HM attended the premiere of the musical "Soldier of Orange" last night at the hangar of the former Royal Airforce Base "Valkenburg".
HRH Princess Irene and TH Prince Pieter-Christiaan and Princess Anita,who were very close to Erik who was best man at
his wedding,were in attendance as well.

The story of Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema,a student who got involved in the resistance during WWII and escaped to England,but went to and fro the Netherlands several times for espionage and sabotage during that period.In London he met with Queen Wilhelmina and after the war she appointed him as her private secretary.He was employed as such for several years after which he moved to the US and eventually lived on Hawai for decades.He died a few years ago and always remained a very close friend and confidant of the RF,from Wilhelmina upto the younger generation.One heck of a guy!And,it's always nice to know something more on a subject instead of blind copying whatever a pic reads.so much more worthwhile too..

At Christie's yes,I know.Last week they found a writing desk used by Princess Juliana in a second hand shop.They found a small crown and the word " Soestdijk Palace" on it.No idea how it got there or by whom.It should fetch 150 euro's....only!....Oscar...make a run for it!!:)

Apparently this little table turned out to be older then they first thought,and,it originally belonged to Queen Juliana's great-grandmother,Queen Anna-Pavlovna who used it eventually at the guest appartment at Soestdijk Palace at the end of the Soest wing.

The center is founded by Huub Oosterhuys,a former priest who became a very close and dear friend of the late
Prince Claus and HM The Queen.Huub Oosterhuis was the one who lead the Committal service for the Prince and
wrote the moving uligy.Contacts with the RF have remained very close since,so HM was happy to oblige and to
open this center founded by a friend.His daughter,Trijntje Oosterhuis is a wellknown singer here,she's on one of
the pics.His son is married to another wellknown singer here,Edsilia Romsey.:)
 
The Queen, Prince of Orange, Princess Máxima and Princess Ariane have arrived this morning in Lech.
