Thanks for the info! It's a little sad for the girls don't spend a week with their family but school duties must to be doing.
They will have next weekend to have fun in the snow with the family

School duties are such they can skip classes,Amalia did bright as she is,bright kids get dispensation easily so they could as well
move to Austria already, the schedule is totally empty already.

I recall in Juliana's days the girls kept following lessons even while on holiday, and to not distract them then they had the lessons in the Royal train, not a fancy place I tell you,a bit of an austere sort of transportation,2nd class nowadays is more comfortable then many a Royal train.

Well, most parents would not just go away and leave their two young daughters at home in the care of nannies when they can prevent it, but well... good that they stick to the leerplichtwet this year.

HM The Queen,by Royal Decree, bestowed the Honorary Medal for Arts and Sciences in the House Order of Orange
to Professor Dr.H.J. Lindeboom for services rendered to HM.

Han Lindeboom is Professor of Marine Ecology at Wageningen University and Member of the Board of the Institute
for Marine Resources and Eco Systems and plays a vital role in the enhancement of research of the Polar regions.

In november 2008 he was Chair of the Palace symposium;" The Polar regions in a changing world" .

The Palace Symposiums are an initiative of HM The Queen to give a podium to a broad range of subjects concerning
the present times and they are held on a regular basis several times a year at Noordeinde Palace.

Absolutely terrible, this shooting. It makes you wonder how on earth a person who was known to be mentally unstable is allowed to be a member of a shooting association. Apparently it was his father who was a member first, and who took his son later on.

I am afraid we will see more and more of these kind of things in the future :(.

I hope that this memorial service can help in small way to heal those affected by the tragedy. Sadly it appears that this is becoming an all too common event around the world.

When did she get so big? It feels like her parents married only a few years ago.

I must say, the future of Europe's monarchies are stunning: Amalia, Elisabeth, Leonor, Ingrid Alexandra...
