He also paid a number of working visits to the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps and the Royal Military Constabulary. In 1995 and 1996, Prince Willem-Alexander visited the troops stationed in Bosnia, the Dutch-German Army Corps, and NATO manoeuvres in Norway. In 2001, he visited the Dutch units stationed in Ethiopia and Eritrea as part of UNMEE (United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea). Does anyone have a picture of Maxima at this: HRH Princess Maxima and PM Balkenende were at Innovation Lecture 2005 4/27/05 in the Hall of Knights,'s-Gravenhage.

The (yearly)Innovation Lecture is organised by the Ministry of Economical Affairs and aims at improving knowledge of several facets of innovation and to give an impuls to public discussion concerning this theme.

This underlines the importance of innovation as a pillar of a competative and strong Dutch economy.

Is this the first time Maxima wears this tiara? I don't recall ever seeing it. I think it is lovely.

I don't think I've ever seen Maxima wear that tiara either. I really like it though, it looks great on her. I also really like her dress (what I can see of it anyway!). :)

Prince Willem-Alexander today, National Liberation Celebration

He gave a beautiful speech (link speech in English: http://www.koninklijkhuis.nl/nieuws/Toespraken/2327.html). He surprised the people in Den Bosch, where he suddenly visited the Freedom-market. And Willem-Alexander was present in Wageningen for the march past of Veterans, former Resistance fighters and military units.

Here are the pictures:

The Bandeau of old rose-cut diamonds (appr. 1725)

The diademe which was worn by Princess Máxima of the Netherlands during the banquet in honour of The Governor-General of Canada is a very old and valuable bandeau which consists of 25 quite exceptional and crystalclear rose-cut diamonds. The Princess wore earhangers -with another few large diamonds as pendants- together with this bandeau.

A fellow poster on the Royal Jewels Message Board could inform me that these diamonds -contrary to what I always thought- do not have a Russian origin via Queen Anna Paulovna of the Netherlands born Grand Duchess of Russia, (1795 - 1865) but were a gift from Willem IV Prince of Orange, Fürst zu Nassau, Stadtholder of the United Provinces, (1711 - 1751) to his wife Princess Anne of Great Britain and Ireland, The Princess Royal, Princess of Hannover (1709-1759).

This bandeau is not as spectacular as for example the diamonds-and-ruby diademe worn by Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, but it is not a too big guess that this set, worn by Princess Máxima for the Canadian visit, is one of the most valuable sets worn by all the 'new Princesses' so far (Mathilde, Mette-Marit, Mary, Letizia, Laurentien, Mabel, Claire, etc.) due to the unbelievable size of the stones, their carat-quality and their old age.

I really adore the look of CP Maxima especially at this stage. She looks so radiant and beautiful. I have also noticed this with the royal ladies who are and were pregnant.

I think what my mother said was really true that when you are a pregnant woman, you tend to look more radiant as always and love to look beautiful more than what's usual.
