December 1, 2004: Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish swings when singer Carlinhos Brown performs during the Prince Claus Prize in Amsterdam. Mahmoud Darwish received the Prince Claus Prize from Prince Johan Friso during a ceremony at the Royal Palace.
December 3, 2004: Queen Beatrix receives a book from Professor Eltjo Schrage at the Palace Huis ten Bosch in The Hague. In the book it appears that the mother of Prince Bernhard , Princess Armgard , had no sympathy for the Nazis, which is in contradiction to the rumours, instead she had a very tense relation with the NSDAP. It was originally planned that Prince Bernhard would receive the book this week, Queen Beatrix received it instead.
