thank you for the pictures, patrick...
they are lovely..
it's great we can see some photos (really good ones too!) when there are so little coverage at all from the photo agencies.

That's cool, Patrick! I really love your pictures! :)

I have no clue why there are more pictures now, but the Queen was receiving a book which contained all the official speeches she held the last 25 years.

Tonight the Queen will attend the 50th lighting of the christmastree in Gouda.

Great picures, the exhibition is actually 5 minutes walking fro my place, so maybe I will have a look at some point.

A nice idea to honour our ties with the former dutch Indies like this, I still remember an indonesian choir singing for Queen Juliana at her funeral, which was moving.

it's a bittersweet seeing all the Indonesian items, but it brings tears to me as the fact, the items (like stone statue, cow statue called 'lembu nani', etc) were probably taken from Indonesia, my country, during Dutch occupation.
they're now dutch properties though... :(
i saw some items that were displayed at amsterdam were also displayed in Jakarta during Indonesian-Dutch Bilateral Cultural Exhibition several months ago.

I love her cape/wrap. it's gorgeous. so perfect for the occasion and so befitting for a queen.

i just heard that the queen will have her surgery befor the end of the year and that is why she can not attend the newyears eve reception at the palace. Princess maxima en prince willem alexander will be the hosts for that party.

Today the Queen will attend an interreligious meeting in Utrecht, with the prince of Orange and Princess Maxima, later this day she will be present at the 'koninkrijksconcert' in Dordrecht.

;) ;) ;) Thank you Squidgy!
It was very nice to see the Queen, especially with those Indonesian people wearing Indonesian traditional clothes. Later on, we asked Her Majesty to join us, and she accepted our request. We had really marvelous time!!!:)

I saw the queen attending this concert on the news, she seemed almost to be 'swinging' to the latin (antillian/aruban) music. She also visited a Rembrandt exhibition in Leiden this week, I believe. I am really impressed by the high number of public activities she has performed these days (/this year).

She lives at Huis ten Bosch, Paleis Noordeinde is the palace where she's working during the day. :)

Me too Marengo! The poor dear must be exhausted - she has been so busy. She might actually be looking forward to her knee surgery next year, so that she can take a little rest.

Has the palace announced when the surgery is, and how long the recovery period is expected to be?

The palace only has stated that the surgery will be at the end of the year, You may say that the time is 6 weeks minimum is until the queen is recovert.:(
