Thanks for the pictures Pdas1201. Mabel and the Queen look stunning! As for Maxima, I can't figure out why she is wearing so many high necked outfits these days - they are not the most flattering for her. Oh well, looks like she is enjoying herself which is the most important thing.

Is PMaxima wearing Natan? That is the same blouse, but in blue, that PMathilde had on at the UN last year when she was photographed with Nan Annan and PMaxima. Since I am noticing things like this, I must be looking at these pictures too closely!!

She is quite short, in fact. I once saw her at Queensday and I would never have thought she was so short! Probably that's why she always wears those big hats. Can't help you with the inches. I don't understand a bit of that way of measuring people.

Thanks lots for the pictures, purple platinum and misshelen.The Queen seemed really enjoy and happy at the event, good to see John Friso and Mabel accompanied with Beatrix, W and M, Mabel looks alrite this time and better than the other times when she's in hat but i think is that her belly looks a little not small, any new baby will come for the couple?

The blouse Máxima is wearing is extremely similar to the one Mathilde wore at the United Nation's campaign presentation against poverty (November 2004). That was by Natan:

Maxima's top has a round collar, it's a separate scarf tied around the neck. Mathilde's blouse looks to be one piece. They do look close. However, maybe because of the choice of light coloured trousers, it looks shapeless on Maxima, not at all flattering.

On the Benelux Royals MB Joris posted an article he fund in the italian Vanuty Fair of september 2005. According to the article the queen bought a new magnificent estate in the south of Italy, previously owned by american author Gore Vidal. The article said she 'won' from Berlosconi and Sting, who also showed interest in the property.

According to other posters it is not very likely that this is true as the house is still for sale and it has a lot of stairs, not very handy for a 67 yo who has troubles with one of her knees. Furthermore, the queen already has a summerretreat in Tavarnelle, Italy.

That last hat is quite nice apart from the egg shape to the center that rises out of it.

I think it's a little too angled for my taste, it should look more natural, not too stiff like most royal hats do.

These pictures were taken at an event where Queen Beatrix received drawings of children. The winner drew something which had the theme 'a liveble earth'. Te drawings will be bundeled in a book and the cover of the book is designed by HM the Queen herself!

I love seeing Beatrix around children - she takes on a very grandmotherly air and seems to really care about them.

I'm with you on that. the bump on top of the hat is weird. the rest of the outift is great, though. that color purple looks very good on her. and i like the tweed material.

Yes it was a jubilee show from the yought theater in Rotterdam. It was in the centre of Rotterdam, it calls: Hofplein
