Amsterdam Queen Beatrix attended the concert ''East meets West'', by the German Ensemble Modern at the Indian Festival in Amsterdam. 20-11-2008

HM will unveil a glass stained window,"Peace and Tolerance" at the Great or St,Bavochurch,Haarlem tomorrow tuesday the 25th.

HM received the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Croatia,HE mr.dr.I.Sanader in audience at Huis ten Bosch Palace today.
 
HM visited 41st bataljon at Oirschot Army base,and was informed on clearing roadside bombs.
The Queen stated she has enormous respect for those in their dangerous jobs.

HM also met with the family of private Jos ten Brinke,who was killed in Uruzgan earlyer this year.
 
HM was on a working visit to the mossels industry at Yerseke,Zeeland today.

HM bestowed the Honorary Medal of Arts and Sciences to choreographer Jiri Kylián during a ceremony at Huis ten Bosch Palace yesterday.
Jiri was artisitic director and choreographer of the Nederlands Dans Theater,and it was during his "reign" that saw the exceptional rise of the Theater to a global player with an exceptional high quality.

The Honorary Medal is bestowed to those who have rendered exceptional services to the Arts and Sciences and are
close to the Royal House.It is HM who's to decide who will get this House Medal.

HM will be on a private visit (- read Harrods Christmas spree-) to London tomorrow december 4th.

Just out of curiosity, how do we know that HM will be going there?
She will be just in time for Sinterklaas (Dec. 5th) and Amalia's brithday (Dec. 6th); just wondering if she will dress up like Sinterklaas like her grandmother Queen WIlhelmina did... :whistling:.

And now some truly serious matters; Pamela Anderson has written a letter to Queen Beatrix... Artcile in Dutch here. The actress is in The Netherlands to open the 'Miljonair Fair' (sigh) and has used the opportunity to ask for more attention for PETA/ their campaign against the use of fur. In the letter she praises the Netherlands for the strict rules about fur and she and PETA hope for a complete ban on the raising animals for their fur.

HM appointed Brigade-General of the Cavalry Henk Morsink (51) as Her new Adjutant-General and Chief of HM Military House as of january 1st.

His son Dirk,a Luietenant,left for Afghanistan earlyer this year,his second son Rob,also an officer,followed his elder brother in august,youngest son Maarten is studying at the Royal Military Academy at Breda at present.
