Beautiful Pictures of Queen Beatrix! She looks so relaxed and happy!
She seems to be such a warm-hearted person! :)

She seems very relaxed indeed, and very well spirited lately. Well, she wasn't known as 'Prinses glimlach' (Princess smile) on the dutch antilles for nothing :).

I agree with you! She seems to be really really happy!
And she looks very closed to the people :)

Ah, finally we see a bit of Huis ten Bosch again (usually it is Noordeinde). This is the 'Japanese room' (which Queen Wilhelmina renamed after WWII, but the old name is now used again).

Apparently this professor helped to introduce the dutch society to Maxima.

Prime Minister Jan-Peter Balkenende will consult with the HM the Queen tomorrow morning about the present political crisis. Smallest coalition partner D66 has withdrawn it's support for this cabinet after the controversial decisions made by gov. minister Rita Verdonk about the nationality of Ayaan Hirsi Ali. The Queen will also consult with the party leaders. After that it will be decided if the present cabinet can continue or there will be early elections.

As a result D66 vice-prime minister Laurens-Jan Brinkhorst (Economic affairs), father of Princess Laurentien resigned immediately.

In other words: it's complete chaos in The Hague (once again)...
*Sigh*
Just when the Queen is starting her holidays...

My thought exactly, this morning HM will be busy in The Hague, this afternoon HM will be at the national rundvee manifestatie in Utrecht,a bit of the same twice a day......

The schedules for the weekend go ahead as planned, but instead of going on holiday monday,HM will receive the party political leaders.

:D

Hopefully she will still get to go to Luxembourg with W-A, Maxima, Margriet and Pieter, but I'm afraid she isn't going to be able to. :(

JH at the Benelux MB said she will be able to do so. She will consult with the party leaders only after the weekend.

There has been a change Marengo,HM will receive the representatives of the political parties tomorrow morning at Huis ten Bosch Palace,SP,LPF,CU,SGP.Groep Nawijn,Groep Wilders,Groep Lazrak.(I hope they get a move on! )

Tonight HM will have talks with the representatives of the CDA,VVD,PvdA and D'66.At present the Chair of the Senate,Mrs.Timmerman-Buck is to arrive at the Palace, followed by the Chair of the Tweede Kamer.Mr.F.W.Weisglas and the vice-president of the council of State,Mr.H.D.Tjeenk Willink.

So,I'm afraid HM will miss the opening of the museum tomorrow morning, but maybe she will be in time for the picnic in the afternoon.

Thanks for the pics, fanletizia!

Is HM wearing the same dress she was wearing during the Four Freedom Awards ceremony, btw? I don't like that dress...

She is simply amazing. Between the consultations with advisors, the prime minister etc she even has time to visit cows! I wonder what sshe enjoys more :).

Let's hope HM will be on time for the picnic, Lucien. Or is there a tiara event in the evening? I hope that she will be there then, hiding a tiara somewhere...

And HM had even more to do today, this was posted by JH on the Benelux Royals MB:

HM today received HE Mr.D.B.Payton,ambassador of New Zealand for a farewell lunch at Huis ten Bosch Palace.

Yesterday HM received HE Mr.E.Ugalde Alvarez, ambassador of Costa Rica, for a farewell audience. On june 23rd HM received HE Mr.M.B.Pensa,ambassador of Italy for a farewell audience at Huis ten Bosch Palace.

30-06-2006 Cattle demonstration Queen Beatrix has attended the 10th cattle demonstration in Utrecht.
Part of the demonstration is the inspection of 300 Dutch black and red coloured cows.

The Queen has been non-stop lately!

Two new granddaughters, a trip to Belgium and endless visits within Netherlands and consultations with politicians at home.

How amazing she is that she's doing so much, more than individuals in their thirties or forties do in a week!

More politics, posted by Cees at the Benelux Royals MB:

Although the Queen has allready signed the Koninklijk Besluit (Royal Decree) of the appointment of mr.drs. B.J. Bruins as State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science, his swearing-in has been postponed by the Queen. It will probably take place when there is more clarity about the future of the Cabinet.

And more info about the silver carnation awards, posted by Sal on the Benelux Royals MB, apparently the Queen will visit the Dutch Antilles next year:

One of the receivers could not attend due to his fragile health. It is Charles Gomeres, founder of the Jewish Museum at Curaçao. She will hand out the carnation when she visits Curaçao at the end of this year. She will stay at this part of the kingdom for about a fortnight, that is a first and will visit
each island and spend the night on every island, also a first. Rumour on the islands says that the long visit is a farewell visit as queen.

It seems that the Queen is talking with the cow :D :D :D

Considering that the Queens sister, princess Irene revealed in her book 'dialogue with nature' that she talks to trees and dolphins, I am hardly surprised ;)

The cows name is Flora btw.

HM is always wearing so many bracelets! Some of them were given by her father and made of elephant hairs.

As usual Marengo, you are a wealth of information!!:D:D

The Queen has had a busy time of it lately. Has there been any talk of holidays?

I read it in my newspaper today, and just couldn't resist posting it, such a suitable name for a cow, don't you think? ;)
Considering how they hit it of, maybe HM bought Flora for her Drakensteijn estate (probably not, she has gardeners to mow, I suppose).

Actually she was supposed to leave for Italy this monday. But due to the present political sitiation that won't be possible & it has to be postponed for a few days.

A very suitable name indeed!

That's too bad about Trix's holiday plans. I bet she is praying for a majority government this time around. One can dream ....;)
