Thanks for the picture, it's wonderful!! All the kids are so cute! Now all we need is little Emma to join in with some new photos ;)

I believe that Princess Margriet attended a meeting of the paralympic comittee last friday. Does anybody have any pictures from the event?

Pieter van Vollenhoven opened an exhibition in 's Hertogenbosch about painter Jeroen Bosch. Pictures by PPE

And here the pictures of Margriet, Victoria and Haya at the paralympic comittee. And another one.

Pics were provided by Marianne and JH on the Benelux Royals MB.

I don't know how she does it but to me it seems that the Princess keeps looking better and better each time I see her!

Just a schnabbel as day-presentator, I think.

I know Prof. Mr. Pieter Van Vollenhoven does takes part in the Remembrance Day on May 4th, but anyone know if Princess Margriet attends?I mean along with members of the Royal Family in Amsterdam such as like in the UK on Remembrance Day in November.

Prof Mr. Pieter van Vollenhoven doesn't attend the ceremony on Dam square either, only HM the Queen, the Pirnce of Orange and Pss Maxima are there.

Pieter and Margriet occasionaly attend ceremonies at the' Grebbeberg' in Rhenen, this year Pieter is going there alone. At the Grebbeberg militairy cemetairy the militairy victims of the war are more central, so it is a nice gesture of the RF to be represented there on such a ' high' level.

The Grebbeberg is the venue for the last intens battle between dutch and german troops before surrendering to them. And it is here most of the dutch troops fell in the may 1940 battles,it was to this Grebbeberg Queen Wilhelmina would have rather gone instead of,(what she initially saw as fleeing the country),London.

Pieter van Vollenhoven will attend the capitulation remembrance concert at the St.John the Baptist church,Wageningen.

Didn't she write something in her memoires about that? Something that she would have preferred to have died as the last man in the last ditch at the Grebbeberg then to go to London? Luckily the captain took her there (I believe she was under the impression that the boat went to Zealand).

It will be quite the gathering this evening at the Stadsschouwburg,Amsterdam as after 24 years HRH Princess Margriet will step down as Chair of the European Culturel Foundation (founded by her father in 1952)and hand over the function to HRH Princess Laurentien.

Princess Margriet's family will be present as well as Prince Constantijn.

There will be speeches,a photo session,a dinner followed by a performance of "Stories of Europe-The Attendants Gallery".

Ugh. I have to say that I am no fan of what Laurentien was wearing. I much prefer the style of Margriet, as "helper" to the Queen. As it appears that Laurentien and Constantijn will take up that role eventually, I wish that Laurentien would find a bit better way of dressing, while still keeping her personal flair as well. The dress in the above post by Lucien was just not princess material in my mind.

Meanwhile Princess Margriet is recovering satisfactionary from her hernia, thank goodness.

Hope they"ll be able to attend nephew Alexander's party in 3 weeks.

Isn´t this the 5th or 6th time already? Very sad...

Prof.Pieter van Vollenhoven for years now is trying to convince the respective governments there is an urgent need for a Minister of Safety.

As (-a terrific-)Chair of the Research Council for Safety and Professor of Risc Management at Twente University,he finds at present there are too many different governmental institutions "occupying" themselves seperately with (transport-) safety issues.

Tonight he will have a discussion on this matter with Home Office Minister Guusje ter Horst,21.15PM IKON Ned 2.

Thought it is interesting to post,as discussions with Pieter are always fascinating, just to see how he gets to the point. Moreover,I love to see Ter Horst go "uuhhh" and "yes but" against Pieter's phenomenal knowledge of the issues.:)

Ah, I saw that in my tv-magazine too, but I wondered if the programme would proceed (due to Pieters illness), I am glad to see that it did. I will definately watch the programme tonight. And fashionwise: I bet he is wearing his daisy pin again ;).
