Patrick van Katwijik,
I am so impressed with your photography. This picture of Maxima is different than any other I've seen, you manage to capture her personality in ways most candid paparazzi shots don't. You have a special talent. I'd love to hear more about you experiences photgraphing members of the royal family.

I see your point and you're right in that the Dutch crown princely couple has had a pretty tight schedule of late. Good for them, and good for the Dutch, the people they are lucky to represent.
All the same, frankly, if someone decided to give me $50,000+ per MONTH to travel the world to rub shoulders with kings and presidents and soccer players and ride horses in exotic places as a means to promote a small, quirky country, I'd sign up in a heartbeat & take the occasional tiredness and jet lag for granted.

AND, it has to be said, in ways the new sculpture doesn't manage either! Although admittedly, producing a decent sculpture in itself is already no mean feat, let alone capturing the essence of an anything-but-placid, LIVING character such as Maxima. That's a completely tricky thing, and frankly I am not surprised that this particular attempt is getting mixed reviews.
I for one <do> think it does resemble the princess well, but I agree that particular, unique 'Maxima spark' is decidedly absent...normal for a statue, you could argue. This is why I'm more in favor of waiting with those kinds of portrait statues until a person's passed on. That way, the statue has less of a hardship 'competing' with the image of the living subject..:)

I think due to the overexposure from Maxima after her trip to Mongolie there is not much attention for the unveil of her statue. And just at this time she is really packing out with her clothes. You should say such a skirt is meant to be for a cocktail party. Shame there are no pictures of her full body. She looks so pretty this time. Only Patrick has a few pictures of her, but his logo is so disturbing. Above all I missed the NOS journal with an item about it and I can't see it on the computer because the viewprogramm didn't work.
SO IF ANYBODY HAS NICE PHOTO'S OF HER IN THIS OUTFIT WITH HER COMPLETE POSTURE. PLEASE POST THEM. I WILL BE VERY VERY GRATEFULL.

Patrick, you're a great guy
Patrick, you made my dream come true. A very nice picture of Maxim full body. It was a great surprise for me that you changed the logo on the picture and post it back on the forum. UNBELIEVABLE. Thank you very much.
Because I read on your site you're a young Dutch handsome guy so: een dikke kus van een Maxima fan.

Wow...I really don't like this choice of outfit. She usually does a good job, but this red one and the other orange dress she wore recently just don't look good at all. This red one looks like something from an 80's movie, and that hat...Perhaps it just doesn't appease my eye??

With the UN year of Microcredits at an end, Princess Maxima has accepted another proposal of the UN. Maxima attended the first meeting of the UN advisors groep for an open financial sector at the UN headquaters,New York yesterday (june 30). She has been invited by the UN,along with 20 others prominent people,to participate in this group. So I assume we can see more of her in this role. Apart from giving microcredits, this counsil also wants to focus on providing cheap insurances, loans, savingaccounts etc. to small business in developing countries.
So now we know why she was unable to go to Luxembourg yesterday :) Anyway I must say that I am glad she can continue with this, as she did a great job last year & finance was her field of interest before her marriage. So she can use her skills here.

Interesting news. Agree this is an area where Maxima can leverage her ample financial expertise as well as her humanitarian side, and shine on both fronts.
I have to add that as far as these microcredits go, they seem a great initiative, but what gets me worried is reports that the <interest> on these loans are as high as your typical 'shark loan' deal, i.e. in the range of 15-20 percent typically. Of course, I realize that normal banks won't touch initiatives for the poor with a ten foot pole if they can help it, so this initiative is better than nothing. But still, not many people talk about the exhorbitant interest rates that go with this initiative and are very worrysome, and I'm not sure I can agree with it, nor lend a Dutch symbol, a princess, to hawk it, however well-meant..
