I believe I have read that when things between Maxima and W-A were getting serious, she was transferred to Deutsch Bank in Brussels and was kind of taken under the wing of Mathilde to help her learn about royal life. During that time they developed a friendship. Somewhere on this board is posted a photo of Mathilde and Philippe leaving W-A and Maxima's home in Wassenaar after a private dinner. In addition Mathilde is a godmother of Princess Alexia and I am sure I have seen other photos of the two together at royal functions. Perhaps someone else can fill in other aspects of this friendship that I can't recall...

Yes, it ended. They went for the first day only, which was planned in advance, and Queen Beatrix will "solo it" for today and tomorrow.

W-A looks very enthusiastic. And so he should, because it's a very good match, one of the best I've seen so far. I surely hope one of the teams will get to score in the next half! Which just started by the way, I'm gone...:)
