Next year , there will be the World Cup football in Germany . And guess who's in the same group as the Netherlands ??
indeed ... Argentina !!!:)
I think this will be special for Maxima , her old country versus her new country . Especially because football is very populair in European , and also in the Netherlands. They have both strong football teams , but i think Argentina will be the groupswinner . Wondering wath Maxima is thinking

I surely would be surprised if the Netherlands would be the group winner... :p so Máxima doesn't have to worry about a thing! She can support the Netherlands and silently be happy that the Argentines will be the winner of the group.

Thanks for the confidence!!!! :) (Actually, I would say Argentina will be the winner of the Cup?! :) ).
The funny thing is that here, the group already got the nickname of the "Mortal one". In accodarnce with the information given by the sports journalists, Argentina's future contenders are: one of the best African teams, one of the strongest European ones and the "re-born Clockwise Orange" -it seems this was the nickname for The Netherlands National Team in the seventies.
I was just a little girl, but I do recall the 1978 World Cup final match between Argentina and The Netherlands and how long it seemed to be!!!!!!.
Back to princess Maxima, I am sure she will be happy as long as one of both National Teams wins the Cup at the end. But I do not think she would like the 1978 final to be repeated on this Cup, since no matter which teams becomes the "World Champion" and how happy she would be for it, she would also be sad for the defeated one.:(

Yes, I think so too. I'm glad that I'm not Máxima! Such a dilemma! But Holland-Argentina would be a nice final, that's for sure! Another 1978. But even nicer would be Holland-Germany. Another 1974. We lost back then and it's the Grand Dutch National Trauma, even for me and I wasn't even born in 1974. :p

Yes, I think so. In Dutch (at the website of the DRF) it says: Zijne Koninlijke Hoogheid and Hare Koninklijke Hoogheid, which means His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness. Ofcourse I don't know a thing about styles and how that works, the only thing I know is that they are always referred to as HRH here in Holland...

yes, they're Their Royal Highnesses.
the translation must be mistaken a little bit.
they translated ZKH into Their Royal Excellency, while it should be TRH.
Princess Margriet is tranlated into Princess Daisy, and van Vollenhoven is translated into 'of the skins'.
weird... i'll try to correct it & be more careful next time.

Yes, Margriet is actually the Dutch word for daisy, so that can be explained. I heard the same for Queen Margrethe and I never thought of that, though the names are similar and come probably from the same root. But the van Vollenhoven as 'of the skins' I don't understand... what are you using? Babelfish? Those translation scripts can be quite funny... :)

Hi there!:)
I also like CP Maxima very much!! I've found 5 pics of her at WENN. Take a look!
http://photo.wenn.com/index.php?ref=...a7fbff5bc656d0
If the 1st page of the latest pics is opened, try going to the next ones and you'll find Maxima Zorreguieta there (today the pics are still on the 2nd page but who knows tomorrow...), but you have to do it fast since this pix agency is constantly changed!

these are not new photos of Maxima. they were taken in december of last year. i remember them quite well. it was one or two days after bernhard's funeral and right before her pregnancy with alexia was anounced.
you can tell they're old because she still has her old hairdo.

Prince Guillermo and his wife, princess Maxima, have been this year the ones in charge to preside over the official reception of New Year to the foreign diplomats in Holland. The Queen, that receives traditionally the authorities in these dates to offer by the year that begins, has not been able to attend the event to be entered in the Hospital Haga Rode Kruis. And Queen Beatrix, of 67 years, was the past weekend put under an operation in which a prótesis of metal in the superior and inferior part of the knee was implanted.
An operation that left the orthopedic surgeons, L. Mol and M. Driessen, completely satisfied with the results and that did not prevent that the Queen, according to prince William, to celebrate a very calm entrance in the new year at the hospital boasting her typical sense of humor and of her enormous physical strength. Nobody hoped nevertheless that, in the heat of rehabilitation process and when all counted the days to be given discharge, the postoperating complications when developing the Queen a picture of pulmonía, that was diagnosed her in the Bronovo Hospital, center to where she was transferred to initiate a rehabilitation that is to due at least during next the two months.
Together with other members of the Dutch Royal Family, Princes William and Maxima, very elegant in a beige and black pattern, were the perfect hosts to the diplomatic body and the credited international organizations that they met in the morning. In the evening, they gave the welcome to several outstanding members of all the sectors of the Dutch society. These events were scheduled at Queen Beatrix' agenda so the Crown Princes had to participate, a practice that will prepare them for the work as the Monarchs they will be oneday. Prince William and his wife, besides to confront the absence of the Queen had to change the traditional scene where the celebration takes place. The Real palace of the Dam in Ámsterdam is under works of rehabilitation until 2008, reason why the reception had to be celebrated in the Great Dance Room and in annexed rooms of Noordeinde Palace, the work place of the Queen.

Hihi, rudder mouth! That has to be Roermond, that's the diocese my parents belong to. :) I always love the way babelfish (and other applications like that) translate pieces of text. It just makes my day...
Thanks for the info, purple. Another event to look forward to (if there will be any pictures...)
