If not wanting to go back to the Anglo-Saxon past, they could chose the Germanic variant of Ethel, which is Adel-, for example Adelaide (meaning noble nature), after Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen , after the queen of William VI, queen Victoria's uncle. Perhaps Victoria Adelaide Elizabeth Caroline?

I don't think there's any royals with my name in the present or in the past. Cátia or Katia is my name, both are correct.

Reminds me of Ekaterina Gordeeva, who goes by Katia. She's still my favorite figure skater of all time.

It may not be a royal name, but it's certainly quite beautiful!

Katya/Katia is the most common nickname for the Russian Ekaterina, the Russian form of the name Catherine.

oh really? I didn't know my name was a nickname of Catherine in Russian, in my Country Katia is actually a sole given name and not a nickname. Very interesting!
Thank you for sharing the info HRHHermione and Meraude!

Most Russian names have several nicknames or perhaps it's better calling them diminutives, for Yekaterina → Katia, Katiusha, Katen'ka, Kat'ka, Katechka.

Glad to see another Gordeeva fan. Her and her late husband were my favorite couple on ice. I happen to love the name Ekaterina as well, probably more than Catherine, since to me, it sounds more regal and powerful.

My name is Matilda Antoinette - so I share my first name with Crown Princess Mathilde of Belgium, and my middle name with Queen Marie Antoinette of France!
